Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. When it's all done maybe you could get someone to air the show down here in Australia?? Mario
  2. Sure --- as long as it'll sit on the table that way. Would the competitor then be DQ'ed if gun then fell over on the table?
  3. If the WSB said something to the effect "Facing uprange back against wall handgun loaded and holstered hands loose at sides as demonstrated by Range Official" would that be ok?
  4. Things Men Need to Know About Style 1. Yes, Homer Simpson is funny, but not on your tie. 2. Only consider tucking your jumper into your jeans if you're a priest. 3. Getting your girlfriend to iron your jeans is unacceptable. Ironing them yourself is evidence of mental imbalance. 4. Unless you own a ranch or are a nutty President give the cowboy boots a big miss. 5. Pointy lace-up shoes make women dry retch. 6. Going bald? Shave it off for God's sake. 7. Never take your top off in public, unless you've just won Wimbledon. 8. Donald Duck socks do not reflect your individuality nor the wildside of your corporate facade. They do, however, mean your mother still dresses you and you are a dick head. 9. Socks and sandals are lovely on Germans. 10. A jester hat does not a wacky man make. 11. Speedos are only acceptable on Olympic swimmers. 12. As are medallions. 13. And track suit tops and bottoms. 14. Do you have a grey, red and black asymmetrical doona? Freedom Furniture help line 1800 - GET A LIFE! 15. Open shirts: One button open = professional; Two buttons = casual Three buttons = Confirmation you have Greek/Italian/MiddleEastern blood in your family tree. 16. Tight sleeveless muscle t-shirts are only ok if you're 17, can do the running-on-the-spot dance at the drop of a hat and are a member of NSync. 17. Those fold-up scooters + middle thirties exec = f*ckwit on wheels. 18. Here's a startling fact guys: Lara Croft isn't real. 19. If your definition of "new season shopping" is buying your footy club's new kit....Please seek professional help. 20. Unless you own a rap empire, leave the chunky gold bracelet and "ice" ring in the window of your local gaudy jewellery store where it can live a long and happy life and do no-one any harm. 21. You'll NEVER pull chicks if you put your mobile in the mobilephone pocket of your army camouflage pants. 22. Bleached blonde hair. If it doesn't work for Eddie Irvine, it sure as hell ain't going to do it for you. Things Women Need To Know About Style 1. Show more cleavage. 2. Wear shorter skirts.
  5. This is probably directed at Vince since he is the IPSC International Man of Mystery but if the intention is that nobody should have an advantage of be disadvantaged on a stage then if one competitor is half way through a course of fire and comes across unpatched targets then the course he is shooting is effectively "different" to what others have shot. I think they should be stopped, the targets patched and a reshoot. Everybody should be made to shoot the same targets.. And no I don't mean that after every shooter a target needs to be replaced but some common sense used. Thanks Mario (Edited by Mario at 12:26 am on Feb. 12, 2003)
  6. Brian I have accidentally loaded a few supercomp on my 38super setup and only really noticed when putting the rounds in the case guards. Otherwise they seemed to go through ok. Mario
  7. To any you that will be there if you see a guy from Australia there named Ian Jackson, he left today to head over there, could you hassle him a bit for me (jokingly of course).. Good shooting to you all. Mario
  8. Thanks for that and got e-mail from you guys this morning, I was away for a few days. Mario
  9. Have just sent an e-mail to Dillon but was wondering whether anyone here would know if there is some sort of adjustment on the Square Deal to be able to seat the primers a little deeper? This is for a 38super and they seem a little high whether I use new or old brass. Thanks in advance. Mario
  10. Phil I personally think what the RO did is detrimental to the sport. Why p.ss someone off with the potential for them to not come back and shoot just to show you are "smarter" then them. This Sunday we had a match were two of us shared RO'ing for our squad. On the last stage I was RO'ing a 16 year old kid where the start position was hands shoulder high. Just after the standby command he moved his hands towards the gun so I stopped him, asked him to get ready again and he went on to shoot the stage without a procedural for moving prior to the start signal and he has learnt and will be back to shoot again. We are all in the sport together not against each other. Mario PS.. Phil how did you do??? (Edited by Mario at 5:10 pm on Aug. 25, 2002)
  11. Shooter40 If you want to read some stuff on XD's from people that own them maybe head over to this forum http://www.hs2000talk.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi.. Mario
  12. Brian going on from your recommendation to use #1 what would be the worst thing that would happen if say #3 was used? In particular with a race gun?? Thanks Mario
  13. I agree 100% that the gun should not be handled until specifically advised to do so but the wording I think could be interpreted by a "range lawyer", no I'm not one, to mean something that it doesn't mean. Maybe this wording would be without interpretation: 10.3.3 Handling a handgun at anytime except when in a designated safety area or on the firing line under the direct instruction of a Range Officer to do so. Thanks Mario
  14. Just to add another question. Would I be completely wrong in saying that once the RO asks you to the line that you are then under his/her supervision?? As Nik stated that there could be other things going on so would it be better then for the RO not to ask you step up to the line if they are not ready to supervise you. I know the course of fire doesn't start until the LAMR command but at what point are you under the supervision of the RO?? Thanks Mario
  15. Please don't take my comments as one's that say it is ok to be un-safe and thanks Nik and Vince for setting me in the right direction. Also having re-read the original post I didn't read "started loading" the first time. My answer would have been a little different. Maybe with this rule I would suggest the word "supervision" be changed to read "instruction". No-one then has to guess whether the RO is supervising the shooter or not.
