greyhounder
Have the opportunity to get a Sentry, they worth the extra over the Trojan in 40 S&W not that it really matters.
co-exprs
I think it is. Sentry is fit better and has a forged frame will last 3x longer.
deerassassin22
I agree with co-exprs the Forged frame is worth the money.

Rob D
You also get checkering on the front strap instead of that weird golf-ball finish that's only good for holding grip tape.
audani77
+1 on the Sentry
2MoreChains
I think you'd be happy with either. Mags are an important factor with .40 1911s and not all are created equal.
greyhounder
Have a Sig in 40 also, use Tripp mags and have not had any problems, but that is with the Sig, going for the Sentry so will keep an update going. Again thanks for the advice

schrja
I have a Sentry in 9mm and really like it. Unfortunately, it looks like STI has discontinued them. So if you have the opportunity to get a new one, you should probably take it while you can.
zzt
When I was talking to STI about possibly getting a Trojan, they suggested I seriously consider moving up to the Sentry because I would get a much better gun for not a whole lot more money. If memory serves, it comes with the recoilmaster, which I would replace.
greyhounder
Thanks zzt, recoilmaster feels nice but seems whole lot of trouble at a match if need to take it down. Right out of the box first time not a bad word, sighted in,Fed all rounds. Thank you STI.
triplesinglestack
I have both. I like them both for what they are, the Sentry ran perfect out of the box, where as the Trojan went to Tripp for some work, now the Trojan runs better than the Sentry, but I do like the checkered front strap, it just feels so good. wwboater
I wish I would have never sold my 40 cal Sentry. It was an awesome gun and ran great.
Mike21STI
I had a sentry also. It was great I did change all the upgrades it had over the Trojan though (magwell, guide rod). But I liked the checkered front strap better than the one on the Trojan
