  1. I have a 9mm STI 2011 that has a minor issue. The trigger hits the magazine and prevents the hammer from falling. The trigger bow behind the plastic trigger piece hits the magazines on the front side of the mag. Now if I put in a 40 cal mag the gun functions perfectly (dry firing of course). I already sent one mag back to STI and the new mags does the same thing. The mag I bought from Brownells does the same..... Is it normal or OK to take some material off of the trigger bow so that it clears the mags? It does the same thing with my SVI trigger that works fine in the 40 cal STI....
  2. Well mine finally arrived at the Dealer in August. Dealer tried to jack up the price and I told him to kiss off. Well he sat on it for about 6 weeks and must have needed some cash so he took my offer of 2K and now I have the pistol that I have been waiting for since Jan... About 750 rds though it so far and it runs great. Had an issue with the mag that came with it not wanting to drop free, heck I had to yank it out. STI is replacing that one mag..... All in all great pistol...
  3. Its May an I have not seen it yet.... We will see..
  4. OK, great input from all.... TY.. I have an STI Alum grip........ gonna put it on my 2211 22lr gun, Maybe it will last. God I hope it last on a 22. If I like it as much as I think I will then I will spend the extra $$ for the PT or SVI. I really like the looks of the SVIs.... Again, thanks for all of the info...
  5. Started with 320 and never have had a reason to change. I have my load and it always shoots very consistent. Only issue is $$ and it can be difficult to find.
  6. OK this is my 50th post so I guess it needs to be something of some substance.. I bought a set of Pro-Ears Gold at a gun show about 3 years ago. They looked new at the time, but I am sure for what I paid for them they must have been referbs or seconds. I have used this set of ear protection consistantly for the last 3 years and they have performed flawless. About a month ago I dropped them on concrete for the final time. One of the ears stopped working. So I emailed Pro-ears and told them how I dropped my beloved ear protection and it was totally my fault they no longer work. They sent me an RMA to send in with them for repair. I mailed them in last Sat (4 days ago) and have been dreading the email back with the repair cost. So today I get a random email from Fed-Ex, its my ears that will be back to me Friday. Wahoo..... So even though I broke my ears and got more than my monies worth over the last 3 years, Pro-Ears fixed my ears for free and paid for the shipping back to me. All this in less than 7 days. This is great service! My next set of ear protection will definately be Pro-Ears. Also Optics Planet has them on sale right now. Less than $220....Thats over $100 off....
  7. I wish I would have never sold my 40 cal Sentry. It was an awesome gun and ran great.
  8. When I did my 22 2011 I had to buy the lower and also all of the internals. Pretty easy to put it all together if you buy good parts...
  9. I could and have been. But why not try something new?
  10. Awesome. Thank you... Looks like the PT alum it is... Thanks to all who have provided feedback...
  11. Great info, TY. If I do CeraKote or GunKote I can do them at home..... Melonite looks great but then I have to send the gun out. Hillbilly does some pretty interesting work....
  12. Once you figure out how you want your 2011 and the blued finish looks like crap what's the best finish to put on it besides getting it hard chromed ? Do Cerakote or Gunkote hold up?
  13. Whidden is good people. Ordered all of my 300 Blk stuff from them.
  14. How is the durability of the PT alum one? No cracking issues with normal 40 loads. Thanks for all of the input folks.
  15. Frog lube casued issues in cold weather... I have since switched to Rand CLP and it works great. Lube the BCG up and it will run great with this stuff..
  16. OK. What are the advantages of the PT grip in Alum vs steel?
  17. Thats odd. I have not run into that problem. Hopefully someone will have run into this before...
  18. I have never heard of this either. Did they ship with the first payment or did you have to wait for the third?
  19. That seems silly to me. Even warranty replacements are a PITA. If you know there is a potential problem.....stay away Not trying to be a butt, but spending $600 - $1000 for a grip for me is silly. But then again I do not shoot at your level. Please keep the input coming. I would really like to get a couple of people that have the newer grips to respond. Thanks
  20. Well I am still glad my parents moved me out of CA back in 81. I wish you all luck. Also thanks for all of the input about price. I have listed in here in GA and hopefully it will sell in the next few days.....
