Sandbagger123
what the consensus on this spring tester?? there are not too many reviews http://store.securefirearmproducts.com/product_info.php?products_id=
Service Desk
I got one at Bianchi..... And use it every time I clean my 2011/1911 guns. I would give it a solid 9 out of 10 for usefulness, get the digital scale and don't get too hung up on minor variations in the readings.
Toolguy
I got one too. It works fine. I like the firing pin removal tool too.

Sandbagger123
Are they accurate with other types of springs used in other guns? i mainly want it for 1911 springs, but if it works for glock springs it would be a plus
spencerhut
They work with most springs we use on guns. There are several adapters in the package.

LeeNZ
Bought one through Brownells and wouldn't be without it. Saved me a fortune in springs especially when my wife starts changing them in her guns.
e-mishka
can you measure trigger pull with this?
Service Desk
Nope...
hotrodder
I purchased one from brownells and it works great. I bent a hook using a stiff wire-rod about .125 diameter to adapt for measuring trigger pull and it has worked very well.
hotrodder
Thought I would add some pictures of the trigger pull adapter I made and also using it to weigh my SS 9mm.
e-mishka
Thought I would add some pictures of the trigger pull adapter I made and also using it to weigh my SS 9mm.That's neat. Does it measure trigger pull accurately?
hotrodder
So far it has been very accurate. I typically lay the gun as you see it in the picture and pull straight back. It usually repeats within .02 of a pound for three pulls. That gun averaged 1.34 pounds as the picture shows. Or 1lb. 6oz. roughly. Which is what it measures using 2 other trigger pull gauges I have borrowed and tried.
hrt4me
I just got that one as well
Sandbagger123
i tested some springs and got interesting results. I measured the wire to see what they should be. The ismi stuff was consitantly 2# under. A 12.5 was about 10-10.5. wollf was very close. I had also bought a spring kit off of ebay with 5 different # springs and they were off 2# also across all the springs. Question for you spring guys. even though the diameter of the wire is correct, what causes it to read less? the temper?
