machine
Folks: I am going to change the rear sight on my 2011. I need to know if you drive it out left to right or right to left when looking at it from the hammer. Thanks much, Machine
JMike
I am sure you know this but just a heads up to make sure to remove the set screws under the elevation adjustment. Chances are it might just fall out if it is like some of the others (not just STI) I have read about here. Trent1k1
Set screw like he mentioned. Drive it to the left if looking at the gun from the back/hammer side.

Dr Mitch
Drive out toward the ejection port. It's a one-way street.
dansedgli
Anyone know the correct direction to drive out the rear sight on an STI? We have 2 different answers here.
wgj3
Most don't require much "driving"...

WaJim
I've driven the hinge pin out....Twice as a matter of fact, first time was @ Nationals in a hotel room. You have to build a dummy pin to retain the detent ball and spring so you can re-insert the hinge pin correctly but its worked for me / little dab of epoxy on both sides of the hing pin for safe keeping. Or you could re-stake it. My STI/Dawson about 15yrs old as well. The sight base was stuck. Edited November 5, 2018 by WaJim
Jolly
When I did this on my own I took a caliper and measured the gap either side. Drove it out the side which was larger of the two readings.
