G17fan
Hello all, since I am new I am wondering what my powder options are... I've been told that N310 and N320 are too fast. I'm told Ramshot Silhouette and IMR 7625 are favorites.... Any help would be appreciated. Thank you! Edited September 7, 2014 by G17fan
kneelingatlas
What gun are you shooting? Open Glock? Bullet weight, barrel length, the more info the better. Edited September 7, 2014 by kneelingatlas

G17fan
Ok. Montana Gold JHP at 124gr. I'd have to verify the comp.... Not in front of it right now.
kneelingatlas
Have you checked your chamber to see how long you can load With those bullets, round nose are better for short chambered guns. BeerBaron
with that many barrel holes and that massive comp you will need a fairly slow powder and quite a decent load. need plenty of gas to get that thing working. I'd suggest look at 3N38, maybe N350 and consider autocomp too. you need to get a chrono and work your way up from starting loads. at all times check for overpressure signs. if you have an experienced open loader at your club, ask them for some help. G17fan
My club has about 3 really experienced open shooter that have been in it for many years. I will check with them. Thank you.
Aircooled6racer
Hello: I would suggest HS-6 or Winchester Auto Comp. Try 8.5grains of HS-6 and 7.2grains of Auto Comp to start. Chrono to see where you are. You could also cut that last port off the comp since it is not doing anything but adding weight. Thanks, Eric

cecil
I use 6.8 gr auto comp.. for Open Major... 124 gr bullet which produces a 164 PF..... these are my findings, I strongly suggest you start low and work up.. watch for pressure signs..
