Nik Habicht
And to bring the thread back full circle, a NASCAR "stock car" is built up from scratch from custom parts to more or less conform to the general profile of the production car. http://www.sciencechannel.com/tv-shows/how-its-made/videos/how-its-made-nascar-stock-cars.htm http://www.sciencechannel.com/tv-shows/how-its-made/videos/how-its-made-nascar-stock-cars.htm Kind of like current production guns...... theblacknight
IMO, production should be our "NASCAR ." Make it more about the factory models, and less about individual shooters preferences - but I think there should be a healthy minimum of a qualifying model available for sale. And, if not already, perhaps a weight cap to keep them into more along the weight of duty/carry guns. That whole thing with this comparison is that it dosent work. Under production rules. you can change a lot of parts in a Glock. Does this mean it's no longer really production? No, because buying those parts dosent buy skill and I've yet to have someone show a tangible benefit(i.e. attaining A zone accuracy at a faster speed) from the result of racing out a production Glock with spongy trigger springs and lightened striker parts. Skydiver
Do bullets and matching the correct spring weight count as production gun part change? I saw a dramatic improvement from my sub-D class scores when I switched from shooting factory ammo to a 130PF load with a spring that matched that load. Brought me up squarely into C because I could actually follow the sights all the way through recoil.
