Willz
what "health hazard" are you talking about? the VM comp comes with a carbon extension.... and by wear do you mean the way the carbon gets eaten up by the gas leaving the end of the barrel? The VM mag extension is a metal tube with a carbon fiber sleeve over it.
jriggs
The cover for the main tube is carbon over metal but the extension is straight up carbon Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Willz
I have a Carbon Arms 10+1 mag tube installed on my Synth VM. The tube is stainless with a carbon fibre sleeve over it. The extension/ end cap is aluminum. I do not have a VM Comp model.

45shooter
Yes those are lancer extensions on the remington versamax. Same threads as old short tube. So you could order a plus 4 from lancer and tell them it is for the competition model. Some of the bushmaster team guys requested the plus 4s for the same reasons as listed above. Nate
+3 would allow you to cycle 1 and load 4 for 12 rounds. A little shorter. Mine is on a 22 inch barrel.
outerlimits
Yep, carbon fiber in the lungs can be fatal... Tim-the mods will not like that...
Ethanolguy
I also run a 12+1 because I can quad 4 at the beep which is all I need for 75% of the stages. I started with 10+1 and added a +2 from Nordic. I would say it depends on the type of loading you do.
