rrickysee
I will ask Nghthwk1911 if he would post them i can't figure it out. I sent him some of the pics i took. Where the barrel comes thru the front of the slide, the hole in the slide is oblong. It may be designed this way but my 4" FNS 9 is not this way. Nghthwk1911
I post them today when I get back from running around like a fool for Christmas.
Airedale
rrickysee-mine is the same. Oblong hole with gap above the barrel. My 4" is not that way. Dave
rrickysee
Ok. Im guess it was designed like that. I was concerned something was wrong. I have a bunch of 9mm handguns and none of them have had the slide machined like that. I feel better now.

Moltke
Take a hammer and squish that slide down onto the barrel. -- JUST KIDDING I'm sure it's fine. You can/should contact FN about it if you have problems.
rrickysee
Well, i put it in a vice. Now its oblong horizontally. I'll try the hammer next.

cpa5oh
Thinking of picking one of these up as I have a thing for Production division guns... - looks like the magwell area has a little bit of flare...can anyone comment on how much flare there is? I haven't seen a picture looking inside the magwell...this is kind of a big deal for me, as in Production division you have to make 3 mag changes (at least) every stage... - anybody know what can be done/where to go to make this trigger more competition ready? 5 lbs is kinda heavy when others in the division are shooting 3 lb Glocks and 2.5 lb CZ's... - once the trigger is optimized, would it be more like a competition Glock or competition XDM trigger? I had an XDM with a Powder River trigger - very 1911-like and not Glock-like at all (short, crisp.) Thanks!
Nghthwk1911
OK, Here are two shots of the 40L mag well. Both the 40 and the 9mm should be very close to the same, but maybe someone can post 9mm pics.
rrickysee
I played around with the trigger on mine(removed some material where the sear meets the disconnect and polished things up ). Its a little lighter and kinda feels like a Glock trigger now. These guns are not the easiest to reassemble once you have taken the sear housing apart. I guessing springs and trigger parts will be coming over the next couple of months, now that the 5" guns are available.
jeffroberdo
Nighthawk1911, I Love these guns. Just picked up my second 4" model to use for comps till i can score a longslide version. Can you please tell us where we can get the magazine extension you have attached in your pictures. I have looked everywhere for some and cannot find them. Thanks in advance for any information you can provide.
Nghthwk1911
Jeff,The basepads in the pic are from Carbon Arms, http://www.carbonarms.us/ These are the old design and I don't think they are made anymore. They are working on New designs for the FNH FNS, and will be coming soon, along with other accessories for the FNS and FNS LS pistols.
