andersonj55126
I am starting to work up loads for 9mm major for the first time using HS-6, MG 115/124 JHP and win SRP. I have a kkm 5" barrel without poppel holes. I am a little concerned about primer flattening. Here are some attached pictures take a look and let me know what you think. Length 1.165 or 1.170 I am using Lee u-die and Lee FCD. 124gr 115gr Edited November 26, 2013 by andersonj55126
lcs
IMO, the primers are fine. I've been loading 9 grns of HS6 and 115 for years.
gng4life
Most look good to me, about like mine. I use/have used both of those loads. My MG 124 load is 8.1 HS-6 and my MG 115 load is 8.6 HS-6 (KKM barrel, 1.165). The Blazer in the 176 PF group is really flat though and the WCC in the 169 group looks pretty flat also but the others look pretty decent to me. I've shot at least 25K of either of these combinations over the past few years.
DRichardson
I would sort out all the WCC brass. It is all NATO brass and has a thicker wall, which sounds good but it reduces the volume and increases pressure, and probably explains why that prime looks flatter. Some of the newer WCC brass has the same wall thickness as regular winchester brass but the older stuff is definitely thicker so I just sorry out all of it and use it for minor loads. Is it possible to load 9Major without signs that would make the codgers in the Glock Talk/THR/1911 etc. reloading forum stroke out?
Mat Price
those are fine! especialy for spp. I use wolf/tula SRP and most of mine look like that. I use the srp to get a more complete powder burn but the primers do tend to be a little harder.
oraysor
Use to have what looked like flat primers, started using small rifle primers and haven't looked back. Using HS-6, 9.0 to 9.4 gr with a 115 gr bullet.
