Thank you Vortex Optics for supporting our match. When the marketing guy at Vortex realized one of their guys had signed up to shoot our match, they just had to send something with him. I can tell you that Vortex glass is always a coveted item on any prize table. I have a set of binos I got at a match in Texas a few years ago, and they are outstanding. Not outstanding for the price. Outstanding at any price. The glass is so clear, I can trace 223 bullets into targets at 500yds. I'm sure that everyone noticed the new for 2014 rifle scope they sent out. I am so impressed with Vortex I ordered a new Spitfire Prism 1x just this morning.

Check out the fine line up of Vortex Optics here: http://www.vortexoptics.com/content/new_products

Sponsor or not, thank you Vortex just for making great glass.

Mr. Anderson... Thank you for not only bringing Nordic Components to our match, but also for promoting matches and enriching our shooting community in the midwest. Nordic has been an ever present name in our sport for years and it's getting tough to find a competition shotgun which doesn't have Nordic parts on it. They say that plagiarism is the best form of flattery. Well, I can't lie, I watched tons of vids of your previous matches to get some ideas as to target presentations and the pace of shotgun stages. You guys are great people and we really appreciate your partnership with our event.

Thank you to Matt and Black Sheep Manufacturing for your support of the PPSC. Those clay kickers you make rocked the house! We want more of those! I heard person after person comment on how they had never shot clays thrown like that and how impressively consistent they were. We have hundreds of clays throgh all of our kickers now with zero malfunctions. That is really important because our match had an aggressive schedule and we simply didn't have time for a ton of reshoots due to range failures. Our stages had to be robust and your kickers were a huge part of that. I was so confident in their performance that I used 9 of them in our match.

Eggleston Munitions is a new bullet company here in Colorado. Sometimes it isn't the size of the company but the size of the people in the company which matters. Chris and his brother Dave worked late into the night to have bullets to put on our table. The Eggleston brothers might be new on the scene, but they love shooting sports and really enjoy the community it provides. Their bullets are pretty cool and can ordered in a wide range of colors. I shot hot pink 45's at HeMan Nats this year. I handed one of my pink bullets to Juliana Crowder from Girl and a Gun and she thought it was lipstick. Pretty funny. Anyway, check em out.

Thank you to Otis Technology for sponsoring our match. I have one of the compact Otis cleaning kits in my rifle bag at all times. It has everything you need for a traveling kit and I've used it quite a bit when on a road trip to keep my guns running. Otis is a company who's products are always results based. Never gimicky, but just right.

Burris Optics. What can I say... Burris is one of those companies who's products are so popular that they struggle to keep up with demand. Not a bad place to be as a company. Their XTR and Mtac scopes have enjoyed powerhouse presence on competition rifles for years. Even though they are swamped and don't really need the extra advertisement, they still put prizes on our table. Pretty cool. Check out the new XTR 2, 1-5x. Mark has one and it is a fantastic scope! Every time some company raises the bar, Burris fires back with an affordable and yet best in class option. Not bad for a small company based right here in Colorado.

Thank you to Remington Arms for sending an R1 1911 for our prize table. Remington has put a massive number of prizes on match tables across the nation this year. They must have really wanted to sponsor us to get us a gun so late in the year, when most budgets are getting thin. Remington Versamax shotguns have been tearing up the competition scene for a couple of years now. I know I really like mine.

Check out their products here and at your local retailer. http://www.remington.com/

Since I picked up one of the Burris certificates I would also like to say thank you. I am going to order the XTRII 1-5 for a 3-gun build that's almost complete!

A super huge thank you to Mark and Carbon Arms. Mark was instrumental in pulling this match together as well as putting lots of prizes on the table. That being noted... his time was 1000 times more valuable than the products he brought.

Check out Carbon Arms, pick up some of their shotgun accessories and start practicing for next year: http://www.carbonarms.us/

Lastly I would like to thank Pikes Peak Gun Club, for letting us put on the match. The gun club had to shut down rifle, pistol, sporting clays and 5 stand for 3 days for to support this match. They provided 3 staff to the match on game day, just to keep all the machines running smoothly. Yes the club was paid, but when you start pulling out the offset cost of shutting down the venues and then paying the staff, the club really didn't make very much money. They really wanted to help us make the match as successful as it could be.

Stop by some time and shoot some clay games: http://www.pikespeakgunclub.org/

OscarMike (Kevin) - It was great to meet you, and thanks for the encouragement throughout the match. Sorry you had such a bad time with your shotgun running. Hopefully you'll get it figured out soon or get something different. Best of luck in future shooting events.

After the match, there was some clean up work to do on the ranges. I went back last night, after work and cleaned up all the broken clay piles and reinstalled the range markers we pulled out. It was OK, cuz I sort of enjoyed being there alone before heading home to teenagers and dogs and a broken washing machine.

On Wed nights is the Trap league and when I pulled up, lots of trap guys not in our match came up and started talking about the event. It seems there was a large Trap event going on in Pueblo the day of our event. By early afternoon, our match was the talk of the Trap event because Trap shooters in our match were telling their friends how much fun they were having. There are tons of shooting enthusiasts in the Colorado Springs area, but most are hunters or traditional clay game enthusiasts or USPSA pistoleros. Hardly anyone in our area shoots our style of game. One of the reason's we put on this match was to help expose our little world of 3gun and practical shotgunning to those who don't know much about it. Well it worked in a big way. We had a very wide demographics of shotgunners, which is unique to the shotgun platform. No other type of firearm enjoys such a wide range of applications and interests. The event sort of turned into the good will ambassador, bridging gaps between genres. I fully expect to pull in lots more Trap, Skeet and Sporting Clays shooters next year.

I'm really looking forward to it.

We will need more spinners and slugs targets then. :roflol:

LOL, I did have several people ask if we could have an over/under class.
