Anybody shoot Colt Revolvers

Just curious if any Colts revolver were used in competitions. If not, why not? They do seem expensive compared to Smiths and Rugers.

I've had 4 Pythons, 2 4" and 2 6" and a couple of Troopers. I think the Python is the best looking revo made. I had to give up on them for competition though, they don't hold up. They are a nightmare to do an action job on and it is nearly impossible to get parts and if you can find them they may be very expensive and may be already messed up by someone else.

I have long since gone to all Smith revos and never looked back. I still like the looks of a Python, but now I enjoy looking at someone else's and let them deal with the problems.

It's not that they aren't good guns, I loved the Trooper I had. It's they take extra care and are prone to issues with the heavy use we give the Smith's.

I love my Python, but it ain't going to any USPSA match. Finding a good Colt smith to work on them today is a tough row to hoe.
