Nimitz
I have this 5-pack of magazines arriving from the CZC shop tomorrow http://czcustom.com/cz759mm17rdmagplated5pk.aspx Anyone know if these base pads fit on these mags? http://czcustom.com/cz-sp01-polymer_magazine_base_pad.aspx
EngineerEli
I'm pretty sure they wouldn't work. The mags you have on order are the standard length 17 rd with flush fitting base pads. The base pads you linked to are designed to fit flush when used with the 18/19 rd extended tubes that normally come with the SP-01's, such as these: http://czcustom.com/CZ-75-SP01-9mm-19-rounds.aspx Are you looking to increase mag capacity? Why do you want different base pads for your new mags? Edited September 25, 2013 by EngineerEli
kneelingatlas
Not unless you're shooting a compact, the SP01 pads will hit the frame before the mag seats.
Nimitz
I want all the base pads to be the same and since my new SP01 Shadow is coming with 3 mags that have that base pad I wanted the ones from this 5-pack to match. When I was ordering the gun they told me they had just got the 5 mag packs in & they probably would be gone by the time my gun was ready so since I need 8 mags I ordered them. Too new to CZ to realize the SP01 Shadow comes with a different mag than the non SP01. Oh well, I guess I'll send them back and have to order the individual mags. Unfortunately I like the way that base pad looks when the mag is seated in the gun. I assume that since the SP01 comes with these mags with those base pads that it is still Production legal? Chris_C
I'd sell or just hold on to the mags that come with it and buy some Mecgar 17rd AFC mags. Those are by far my favorite CZ75 mags.

Nimitz
I saw a review on CZC that said the base pads I wanted (http://czcustom.com/cz-sp01-polymer_magazine_base_pad.aspx) fit on the Mecgar 16rd mags you all suggested. Anyone confirm that this is true? This way I could keep my 3 mags that come with the gun and pick up 5 Mecgars and all would have the same base pad ... toddje
These fit on my 'standard' (are they 16 round? I can't recall because I only ever load them to ten) Mec Gar mags for my CZ-75B. http://czcustom.com/Rubber-Base-Pads-For-CZ-Magazines.aspx
Nimitz
here's the review I cited from the CZC shop ... CZ SP01 Polymer Magazine Base PadDirect replacement for the SP01 and SP01 Shadow Magazines "Great Quality, fit perfectly on mec-gar 16rd mag Nicolas Perez (San Juan, ) 10/28/2011 12:56 PM I used these on a mecgar 16rd magazine (mecgar makes cz's mags) and they fit like a charm! I bought two magazines for 20 bucks each and bought these base pads so my mags look identical to the factory ones for the sp-01 phantom, great quality and cheap I recommend them for people who are anal about their guns ;" "
Magsz
They do not fit...the magaines will not seat. The 18 round CZ magazines that come with the shadows have a longer tube.
Nimitz
not trying to be argumentative, just trying to figure out how to get what I want if possible ... So you are saying that the review I cited above claiming the factory base pads (or their replacement) that come with the SP01 Shadow when you buy the gun is incorrect, right? Do these base pads (http://czcustom.com/cz-sp01-polymer_magazine_base_pad.aspx) fit on any other magazines or am I stuck buying the same 19 rd mags that come with the SP01 Shadow if I want all my mags to have that basepad? EngineerEli
Yes for a full size CZ 75 the 18rd (19rd) extended tube magazines that come with the SP-01 are the only ones that will work with that base pad. Some people claim they work with the std length magazine tubes, but that is only with a compact frame, which is shorter. These: http://czcustom.com/CZ-75-SP01-9mm-19-rounds.aspx This is all to my best knowledge so if i missed a possibility, I'm sure someone else will pipe up. Nimitz
And they keep the pistol Production legal, right? So to get all my mags with the same base pad I either need to sell the 3 mags that come with the pistol and buy 8 mags all the same or just buy 5 more of the 19 rd mags you cited? Or is there any other style of base pad that will fit on both the 19 rd mags which come with the pistol and say those macgar 16 rd mags or the 17 rd 5-pack mags sold by CZC (http://czcustom.com/cz759mm17rdmagplated5pk.aspx)? toddje
Now even I'm confused. And I'm not even certain if I'm helping you, but here's what DOES work for me. 16-round Mec Gar with base pad in CZ-75B. Specifically these: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/918412/mec-gar-magazine-cz-75-9mm-luger-16-round-steel-blue With the base pad mentioned here: http://czcustom.com/Rubber-Base-Pads-For-CZ-Magazines.aspx
wanderer
wow, i'm confused, round and round we go. your choices are... 1, buy more 18 rd sp01 mags to match the 3 with the gun. 2 sell the 18rd mags and buy 8 other mags that match, either cz or mecgar if you want reliable mags. the sp01 base pad will only fit 18rd sp01 mags in the sp01. cant figure why you need 8 mags, you only need 32 rounds, 6 is plenty, but that's your choice. Nimitz
That's what I figured my only choices were .... I use 8 mags because for a match I have 5 on my belt plus one for LAMR. I have the other 2 as backup in case of a mag failure at a match but mostly for efficiency during training. With 8 mags loaded that would give me 146 to start a training session meaning I would only have to accomplish reloading 3-4 mags one time at most to complete a session. Since I train in the mornings before going to work I have only 1 hr so I must be very efficient ... Loading mags wastes time ....
Magsz
Todd. That is NOT the SP01 basepad.
EngineerEli
Yea they are the shorter rubber ones. My favorite. He attached the right link for them.
Magsz
He did. I just wanted to further point out that those are NOT the SP01 basepads so as to not add anymore confusion to an already fairly confusing thread.

I had thought reading thru here that the OP had a CZ-75B now and had ordered an SP-01, so I thought I was being helpful, but now I think I may have been adding confusion. Well, hopefully someone will find my post useful someday when they're searching for basepads for a CZ-75B.
Nimitz
All I was trying to do was find out if the base pads that are on the 19 rd mags which come with the gun would work on other mags or if my only option if I wanted those pads was to buy more of those 19 rds mags .... eerw
To match the mags that come with the gun, you'll need to buy that mag. No aftermarket option is available.
Nimitz
ok, 2 more questions: 1. Does the SP01 Shadow fit in the box for Production with those 18 rd (19 rd) mags that come with the gun? This set of 5 mags arrived at my house yesterday, they have the hard plastic bases: http://czcustom.com/cz759mm17rdmagplated5pk.aspx 2. Would these rubber base pads ( http://czcustom.com/Rubber-Base-Pads-For-CZ-Magazines.aspx ) fit as a replacement to the hard plastic ones? And would they also fit the 16 rd mags from Mac-gar? Ok, that's 3 questions ...
Nimitz
specifically, these Mac-gar 16 rd mags: http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/2-MCGCZ7516B
