m469699
This is a superb looking gun! I especially like that triggerguard work. Did you finish it with something besides sandpaper? Did you polish it with the Dremel?
knedrgr
Thanks! Just sand paper. Started with a dremel to rough in the shape and cut most of the plastic off. Then move to 220 or 330 grit for cleaning up and finish the final shape/contour. And finished polishing with 600 grit. All of the Samson were done with the paper wrapped around a large sharpie and small dow rod.
knedrgr
And here's the finished gun. Lower was Cerakote in FDE. I can't say enough on how happy the coating came out. Special thanks goes out to Chuck Rogers of Rogers Precision.

Alphamikefoxtrot
Did they ceracoat the grip as well, or does that particular color just match the factory grip that well? Nice build BTW - I almost messed up and tried to do what you did there until someone reminded me that a EDGE and a Spartan don't have the same type of barrels (ramped vs non ramped). Oh well. I just ordered the new parts and off to a smith they will go very shortly.
knedrgr
Thanks guys!!! Chuck coated the grips as well. I had told him, if the frame doesn't match to the STI coyote color, then do the grip to match.
Flatland Shooter
Thanks guys!!! Chuck coated the grips as well. I had told him, if the frame doesn't match to the STI coyote color, then do the grip to match. Now that you've had some time to shoot your new blaster, is the Cerakote on the grip holding up well? Thanks. Bill
knedrgr
It's holding up nicely. I'm actually a lefty, and the wedding band hasn't made any "dent" in the cerakote. I've also been carrying it IWB for a while, and the frame is holding up. Just some slight shine spots on the edge of the dust cover. And the rails are holding too.
