  1. Thanks. So my kydex rigs will work, just no carry rig yet. I knew the slide was lots thinner than my 21
  2. What is a good holster for the 41? Wouldn't mind double duty being a carry in leather, like galco royal guard... Mitch Rosen... I'm geared up on other pistols buy not tons of options for this that I've found.
  3. What shipped to me last week had a doughnut that would slide the length of the rod and also had a washer for use with certain springs. I would call the piece a bushing, but it is from looking at other rods in the past and just a glance at web images. This might have been new old stock that I received also. There was a difference in that it would contain the piece and the Zev rod that was captured would not capture the bushing that I bought for my 21. The screw just captured the spring on it. I guess it is clearer since I have a comparison rod from another manufacturer and see how things can be called captured and bushings when they all look the same when on the rods.
  4. Reading The New Rule Book They Are, But The Excluded Mods Include Reducers Or Wording That Makes Me Think The Jager Rods Would Be Because Of The Bushing At The Front.
  5. And They Made That Claim Before Steel Guid Rods Were Ok, Or The Adapters Claim In The New RuleS.
  6. I was browsing the new rule book This Morning And Noticed That Steel Guide Rods Are Ssp Legal But AdaptorS Are Not. WOuld ThaT Mean That All Gen 4 Guns HaveTo Run The STock AssemblY Or Be Esp? I AM Asking Because Of A Polymer JagEr ROd, OR The Possibility Of Running Steel. Sorry About Random Caps, Smart Phone IS Giving Me Hell TryingTo And Fix It.
  7. I ran 1K of them with about 4 grains of clays IIRC when I first got my 625. Needed to make major. Everybody thought I was shooting factory defensive ammo at club matches. I didn't mind them since I got a good deal and they went in plenty fast. They were round enough nosed.
  8. Well it is NY so you never know what they have going on up there.
  9. No screws, just connector and spring. Twas the ghost.
  10. You are not helping me save money posting these images. Great looking piece.
  11. Late to reply, but SJC didn't mention or I cannot remember since it was this spring how much it would be to reduce the width. The main issue was when it was cut is that it would go out for coating or annodizing with the next batch so I wouldn't have it cut and shipped that day. I was still kicking around the idea to keep or sell the gen4 gun later on so I never did get back to them. Now I am looking for an ESP/Lim gun and may do a gen3 35 or get a 24 and just run one of my ssp rigs in esp.
  12. Black Beauty is weld slag that is ground up for blasting media. Bad stuff for grit for sure. I would say in the 50 to to finer than 80 grit. Tractor Supply is where I got mine.
  13. Jager makes a poly guide rod for SSP and you are good to go. I never did like my gen4 34. I had issues with it doing random bad things so it left the safe and turned into a 1911. My other 34s are paper killin machines though. Easy to run fast and very forgiving. All I have compared them to was a 17 untill a friend brought over his Ruger SR9C and I was not impressed at how much I had to slow down with the short gun. Then he shot the 34 and said it was almost like cheating. It may not make you MA class, but it will tighten you up and make you a little faster.
  14. What is the preference of the 20 over the 24 in limited? Is it just frame size for feel or the big full slide. Am I missing something else?
  15. I called them this spring when I was considdering a gen4 ESP build and they will modify theirs to fit inside the box if you shoot with a fishing vest. Friendly bunch of guys to deal with. They are a custom shop, not a shop that makes parts. SJC that is.
  16. Never heard anyone not prefer c&s and I thought they both were the same?
  17. +1 Very SOLID advise. Bushing barrel gun for IDPA FYI. That is what I am kicking around or a single stack 9mm. But I build my own. If you move to an area where you are not shooting sat and sunday 3 weekends of the month it may be better to just buy ammo though. You just need to look at the volume you will use and base that on what clubs are in the area and if you like shooting their matches.
  18. Has anybody dug into the m&p rifle to lighten up the trigger? I hafe a friend that is looking to lighten up his and I said I would do the leg work. Is it a hammer, sear, spring kit, or stone and polish the factory stuff? Just looking at my options.
  19. DEPRESSED! I got a way to go. At half speed that still looks awsome.
  20. I fixed it last month. Springs were fine, it was the ghost connector that didn't have enough bend. But thanks for the concern.
  21. You can have pores in cast, I have not seen them in any Para frames or slides or caspian frames that failed. I have seen the big silver painted sand look in the break area though. I am not an authority on failure of frames or slides that have been cut up and then fail though, just seen a few. Anything can fail though, that may not be the cast process fault though. The rest of the metals processing afterward or the end user may have led to the part failure. The only failure I have seen was of a forged frame and slide, but the squib was what did it in. But the slide did split down that finely serrated and flat top section.
  22. Isn't 231 inverse temp sensitive? So you will slow down in the summer. I ask because I am about to dabble with it in a few loads.
  23. Your forged frame or forged anything will all depend on its heat cycles and heat treatment after the forge process. The cast frames are not porus, that is just huge grain size and a weak area when it breaks. When you over heat, or keep your heat at elevated temps for a long time grain size grows in steel. You can have that in a forged frame if it is improperly heated. I forge knives and can demo how to make steel look like rough cast and then in just a few cycles it will look like glass when I break it. FYI there are no cast frames in my safe.
  24. I have air gunned my tool buds at places that I probably shouldn't have. I am not just talking at work, but certain places at work that are very "special" and most of the guys just laughed and cut up with me except for the GF. He wouldn't take out his cell phone and take a pic, since they weren't allowed either. But it does seem to be normal. I practice reloads and get some of my shooting buds to team up and we hose down other foreman or craft during down time. Little air gun swat matches at break when leaving.
