LChico
This message was sent to everyone registered for the match & everyone on the waiting list: This is a reminder about the 2012 Tim Daugherty Memorial Toys for Tots match which will be held Saturday November 17th at the Mid Carolina Rifle Club range. The match is the SC Section's annual Charity match to Benefit the US Marine Corp Reserve's Toys for Tots program. This match is full. I have a waiting list. PLEASE notify me if you are unable to attend, so that I can clear someone off the waiting list. Registration at the Range will start at 8:00 am. The match starts at 9:00 am. We will shoot 7 stages. Round count 197. The stages are a mix of Classic and USPSA targets. There will be no classifier stage at this match. This cuts the cost of the fees we send to USPSA, so that more can go to the charity. The cost of the match will be a new, unwrapped toy (suitable for a child 12 or younger) with a value of at least $25. You may also pay a minimum $25 donation to Toys for Tots (cash or checks). These are minimum fees. In previous years, our shooters have been more generous. Checks should be made payable to 'Toys for Tots' and are considered tax deductible for income tax purposes. A Marine Corps representative will be at the match to take all the toy and cash-check donations. We will not honor our usual discounts at this match: No set-up discount, no 'MCRC steel dollars' and no discount for juniors of new shooters. We have a food vendor for the match. This food vendor fed the SASS Cowboys at the recent large regional match in Summerville, and comes highly recommended. The specialty is Italian sausage with onions and peppers, but he has other offerings as well. He will have hot drinks (coffee and cocoa) for sale. The match will provide free water in bulk containers, and bottled water with or without flavor packets will be on sale. There will be an area in the parking lot that is roped off for the food vendor. PLEASE do not park there. In the spirit of giving as much back to the charity, any class or division winners will get a certificate (no trophies or plaques). This match is strictly about bragging rights! We will do a random drawing, based on shooter numbers, for all the prizes donated by sponsors. Sponsors include Mossberg, CPWSA, Houge, Sierra Bullets, Atlanta Arms and Ammo, Nevco Targets, Starline, Hornady, Samson Manufacturing, and many more. Thanks for your support of Toys for Tots & I'll see you at the match. Linda Chico (L-2035) 2012 Toys for Tots Match Statistician
LChico
Anyone know if we're getting a lunch break or running straight through all 7 stages? No scheduled break, but the Food Vendor will be in the parking lot & you have to pass right by as you go from stage to stage. There will be some MCRC volunteers to help with resetting and pasting, so everyone should be able to grab some food.
