Parsons
Not sure if this is the right section for this but I will give it a try. I may be moving to NC next year for school and was wondering if there was any good gunsmiths down there? Any info would be great. Parsons

Parsons
If I move down there it will be to the Troy area which is about an hour east of Charlotte. Is that close to Jeff?
b2alphaplease
Jeff is on the west side of Charlotte. Probably will be a 1 1/2 - 1 3/4 hour drive, depending on traffic. Montgomery Community College (Troy) has a gunsmithing course. Maybe you could ask them. Depends on the level of work you need.

Jon Merricks
Looks like MCC has at least one good gunsmith on staff. I dont think you will have to go too far to find one.

Mark Dye is the instructor for the night course on gunsmithing. Have seen and shot several examples of his excellant pistol work. sperman
I shot with Mark at the SS Nationals a couple of years ago. In addition to being a great gunsmith, he's also a heck of a nice guy.
Parsons
Well I had a tour of the gunsmith program at MCC today and it looks very well organized and like they teach some good stuff. Saw examples of several students works in progress and I am impressed. I am on a waiting list right now and doesn't look like I will be able to start until the fall of 2013!!!! I am probably going to take a metal engraving class in the year I have to wait because it will be just one more thing I could use to personalize a gun.
