  1. What I hate about shot is when new products or any product is locked and you cant look at it or handle it. Am i supposed to magically know how something feels or build quality if it is locked and cant handle it
  2. Little late but welcome to the forum. I am from Hurricane, WV if you know where that is. I am about 30 minutes from the Eleanor range. I currently live in NC but when I come into visit and they are running matches I am going to try and go shoot them.
  3. about to start the moon is a harsh mistress
  4. Bountyhunter I completely agree! We needed more air time of the girlfriend
  5. Dan I am looking for WSF, N320, 231 or clays. May be picking some up this weekend
  6. Thanks for the responses guys. my buddy that used to reload and cast his own bullets i think is going to let me buy some of the bulk off of him since he isn't reloading right now. I will search local stores and see what I come across.
  7. Where can I find some pistol powder to buy. I have tried the online places I know and every where local. Is it that hard to find right now?
  8. Great info here. I appreciate all the help and will hopefully have some clue what to do now when reloading for my CZ. Chris never thought of doing what you mentioned. I will do that when I get mine in so I can see what the longest OAL i can load is. Seems easier doing it that way than loading longer and longer until it doesn't fit.
  9. Thanks for the responses guys. I will go with the 135 in bulk and see if i can order some 124 and 147 to try and see if I want to go either way on the next bulk buy. I also had read o having to load shorter OAL which i will do the drop test. I have loaded some before just never had my own press or a ton of experience.
  10. I am about to order my dillon press and all reloading components for 9mm. I have read the thread about the 124 myth and google searched as much as i could find. I will be shooting production as of now so power factor doesn't really play a huge role at this point. I am looking at either ordering 124/5 grain or 135 grain bullets. Is there really going to be a big difference either way? Have read about 124 grain being snappier and 147 being slow and sluggish. I thought maybe going 135 would be a good middle ground for my first go around and seeing if I would like a snappier recoil or a slower one. Any opinions or comparisons are appreciated.
  11. Metro I did the same thing you did. I wanted to get into shooting competition and read all about the G34 and how great it was. My first pistol was a 1911 and when I got the glock I was less than enthused. I tried playing around with it and training but I just didn't like it. I sold it not to long ago and bought a CZ for production because I love how they feel in my hand and they point naturally for me. I will probably never own a plastic gun again.
  12. If nothing else you did good getting out of WV,,my son lived in Morgantown for a while and. WOW not for ME I love WV. Northern WV isn't for me either. I am from down close to Charleston.
  13. I am jealous. The TS was the first CZ i had ever picked up last year at SHOT show and I have been wanting one ever since. Well with going through college don't have a ton of money so last week i ponied up and bought a SP01 to shoot production with. To bad NC has some pistol permit law so I got to fondle the gun for a few minutes and back in the box it went until sometime this week when I can take it into my possession.
  14. Move to NC. I moved here a year ago from WV and we had a "winter storm" last year and had ice on the roads the next morning. I had an all wheel drive car and drove on much worse roads since I started driving but I could count on my fingers how many cars I passed on a 2 hour drive.
  15. Glad you posted this! Was very helpful to me. I was about to buy a dillon 550b but now I know that it is a waste of money. I think I can still return my reloading manual i bought also.

    Need help with SP01

Just got my fist CZ hand gun thanks to Stuart. I am not looking at making it into what I want. I will shoot it like it is for awhile but want to go ahead and get a list together of parts I need that will keep me in production. Looking at CZC sight set fiber optic front and black rear. SRTS if they will sell it to me and let me install it. I have seen that the hammer needs to be a hammer that came on a factory gun to keep me production legal. I am wanting to lighten the trigger pull quite a bit in DA and make it crisper in SA.
  19. Well I am sure a newly manufactured one that "special" gun stores get will but apparently since most gun stores have old and outdated guns they don't shoot as powerful as the ones "special" stores get the week prior. You must have bought yours at one of the "special" gun stores.
  20. The NRA classes at MCC are great. I took a class last summer and learned a lot more than I expected. As Ed said I took more notes in that one class than i did all the way through high school. My instructor was helpful on every question, even the dumb ones I am notorious for asking and he didn't make me feel to dumb for asking. He gave me different options on how to fix the mistake and what the possible outcomes were of doing it each way. At the end of the class I have a great gun and one I wouldn't sell for any amount.
  21. Not in a gun shop and sadly i heard this is class (in gunsmithing school so makes it that much worse). Another great 50 cal comment from a kid in class. He was talking about 50's and how powerful they were. Me: don't say they will rip the arm off of someone if it is shot close to them. him: oh no they won't do that. Me: Thank God Him: but if they are shot past the face they will rip the cheek and ear off. Me: uh what? Him: yea from where the bullet is traveling and spinning so fast it creates a suction that pulls the skin off the face. Me:.... (walks away)
  22. Havent even taken mine all the way down yet. Love the pistol
  23. Thanks for the links. looks like statesville will be my best bet for shooting.
  24. Awesome that looks like something I will have to look at coming to here soon. Now just have to read up on IDPA rules as I was leaning towards shooting USPSA.
