  3. Look at the sized case shoulder, make sure you don't have a bluge there. I had bluged cases/rounds drop into the standard Dillon gage but stuck in the gun's chamber. Try using a case gage that has uses Clymer chamber finish reamer dimensions. I use a JP which also has go/no-go sizing and case OAL steps. Dillon sells the EGW chamber checker but I don't know about the go/ no-go steps. .

  5. Okay, dumb question - will a 1911 ambi safety fit a widebody P-16? Got an Ed Brown - it seems that the tab on the right side safety (as looking down the sights) is too long. If I file it down, the tab will hardly lie under the right hand pistol grip. It might get dislodged and fall clear of the gun. What say you? Thanks.
  6. Looks good! I wonder if the popper rack will hold up long term with all those poppers hanging out there in cantilever? Might be okay static but hit a big enough bump and dynamic loads might be an issue. Looking to do an equipment trailer at our match.
  7. At least I cannot miss fast enough to win. I've tried that over the years, it just does not work.
  8. I broke the crank arm assembly on my 550 last Thursday . Received a new one today. Thanks Dillon and all your great customer service people!
  9. These sights work very well in competition. http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=42733/Product/SIGHT-SET-FOR-GLOCK-reg-
  10. Does anyone know if the Dillon .223 case gage is sized to measure case body diameters? Used as a final check of loaded ammo. L.E.Wilson website states about their gages --- "Does not measure body diameters. This gage is intended to be used with fired cases to determine a basis for full length sizing and trimming." Thanks
  11. We have about 10 more slots open for Saturday's match. Hope to see you there, Tim
  12. Local 3-gun match. April 14, 2012. Sign up at 9am, shots downrange 9:30. Scoring Time plus, each stage standardized to 100 points. Four stages, one will be out to 200 yards on 8" steel. Three other stages will be max 30 yards. All stages are multi-gun. $20 entry fee. See rules at http://rowanbb.drsus.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=176&p=742#p742 Hope to see you there, Tim
  13. What you you use? Not really enthused with Google groups.
  14. Jeff is on the west side of Charlotte. Probably will be a 1 1/2 - 1 3/4 hour drive, depending on traffic. Montgomery Community College (Troy) has a gunsmithing course. Maybe you could ask them. Depends on the level of work you need.
  15. I have found that a squad of 10 moves quickest. That being said, 12 is closer to 10 than 15 shooters. Maybe you could do 5 + 1 stages if the classifier is a single start string, with a short course right next door. If the classifier has multiple start strings, stay with 5 stages. There usually is bottleneck somewhere. Tim NC-18
  16. I had that problem once, long story short, check the bearing plate UNDER the primer slide bar. Mine had most of the black coating worn to the bare metal, causing the primer bar to move forward erratically. Dillon replaced it. Tim
  17. Wow !!! That looks bad. I've touched off a couple of primers in the seating phase, but nothing like that. +1 to always wearing protective eye wear. Do give us an update if you ever figure out what caused that.
  18. I'm going to try this scoring method at the next local 3-G match (in 2 weeks). It looks much like IMGA with each stage normalized to 100 points. I'm give an update here afterwards. One thing I did not notice in the rules is a time out provision. Is there one that I overlooked? Tim We tried USPSA MG "Time Plus" scoring last weekend. Overall it went pretty well, scoring was quick, entering data into EZ-WinScore was simple (but could use a little tweaking). Then Voila !, the scores popped out with stage winners getting 100 points and everyone else a percentage of the winner. Still I think a "time out" rule is needed, got to keep the match moving. The stage I'm referring to had the stage winner at about 70 seconds, while others had 600+ seconds raw time. EZ-WinScore just scored those as 500 seconds. Tim
  19. Location : Rowan County Wildlife Association, 650 Majolica Road, Salisbury, NC 28145 $20 entry fee. 9 am sign up, 9:30 shooter briefing. Four stages - 1 stage out to 200 yards on steel, 3 stages CQB < 30 yards.. USPSA "Time Plus" scoring ; 1 "A" or "B" neutralizes, or 2 hits anywhere. 100 points max per stage. Most points wins. See Provisional Addendum to the USPSA Rules, 2011 Edition Multi-Gun Matches Revised – Dec. 15, 2010 Full rules at http://rowanbb.drsus.com/ (under match schedule). You can see pictures and stage descriptions from the last years matches under June 2010 Stage Pictures - 3 Gun. Also walk-thru videos under November 2010 3-gun match. Tentative round count 75 rifle, 75 pistol, 75 birdshot, 5 slugs. You will probably take a few rounds home. Tim
