3quartertime Posted August 14, 2011 Share Posted August 14, 2011 This isn't a hate rant, so I'll add my take; I've always liked Tiger. He may be a big smuck off the course, but it's been fun watching him dominate the game. He brought a lot of people to the game and raised the level that is required to compete. Golf has really exploded in the last ten years or so. When I was playing in the late 70's and early 80's I was one of the only teenagers out there. It was all stuffy old farts in carts. (I know. I resemble that remark now too...) I see allot of young people on the course now. And the level of play of some of the new pros is phenomenal. I think allot of it is related to Woods. It was simply a matter of the media machine could ill afford to show the footage of the magnitude of the tirades and tantrums that he would throw. Yes, he is only 35 but to be honest, he was only successful when the world was in his corner. Now that the curtain is gone and some of his character has been revealed, it will be interesting to see if he has the fortitude to become an adult and find a remedy for his flaws. Even ran off "Stevie", a multi millionaire caddy with attitude. Seems the pro jocks think morality is for other people. If he wants to bang porn stars and play golf and enjoy being rich, I say have at it. What makes me not respect the guy is that he has to pretend to be a saint. What and who he did in his own time was his business. Its not like there arent any other athletes, celeb's, and regular joe's/jane's all around the world doing the same thing.
