shooterbenedetto
This would be our first over seas travel and just wanted to know what are plans for shooters need to make this happen. So Far, I'll start this off with a few list. 1) Apply for passport now 2) Request for vacation time, WS 2011 official date Oct 1-9, Plan be there 2 or 1 days before? 3) Request a slot from Michael Voight Asap. 4) Where to get Visas and firearm permits, 5) What airline(gun friendly), use travel agency or directly with airline? connecting flight or direct flight? 6) How much will this cost? 7) Planning on meeting my family after main match in France? will be ok traveling with my gun while we go to a Europe trip? The HUGE D
Hi, Have you posted this on the IPSC Global Village? There are plenty of people there who would be able to answer your questions, in particular travelling from Greece to France with your guns. European Firearms laws are strict, and you would need to check each country you would be passing through if travelling by car from Greece to France. Definitely take a direct flight where possible, as you may not be able to route your guns directly to your destination if changing flights. Check the Global Village, there is some very good information there. Hugh
Charles Bond
Delta is going to be as gun friendly as international rules allow. Virgin is going to be one of the worst.

pjb45
Plan on at least two days rest before you start shooting. I did USA to Cyprus and when I finally got to Cyprus I as trashed. I needed a full 24 hours to get adjusted to the differences in time. Hell, I was a lot younger then also. You might want to consider shipping your firearm back from Rhodes rather than travel with it. You might give Matt Burkett a call, I know he has international travel with firearms experience. Same with Angus.

Charles Bond
Does anyone have match hotel information???
BritinUSA
I think they normally have several 'match hotels' with over 1000 shooters they would never fit into a single hotel anyway. The organisers usually provide bus transport to and from the range from each of the approved hotels.
