01G8R
Anyone ever tri top a slide with high power cuts? Open or limited. I'm thinking of doing this on a new gun and wanted to see what it would look like. Thanks.
Merlin Orr
Looks good but I will not build another gun without some type of front cocking serrations. Mine is flat topped with the HP cut and it can be a pain on occasion. I miss the front "grippyness" for my guns.
Fireant
Give me another trip or to to the shop and I can have one for you. If you are in a hurry, I hope someone has one laying around for you. Merlin, I was wondering the same thing but I think I have a solution for that problem. TannerB
For a second I thought you were the one going to be the one milling my slide, we are doing something similar, I'd like to see it also.
01G8R
Thanks. No hurry. I'm just getting all the parts for the build. My project will be an open gun so I shouldn't have to worry about the missing front cocking serrations. I would like to see pictures of both limited and open guns if you have them. I'm thinking about running the cuts to the front of the comp. It should drop some weight and I think it will look good.

Aircooled6racer
Hello: I just machined one that is Tri topped and has a HP front cut on an open pistol. I did not take a pic of it but can get one as soon as it comes back from the 3-gun Nationals. I did it to lighten the front of the pistol. Thanks, Eric
Seth
I had Tripp do a thin High Power cut on my new 6", but I opted for lightening slots instead of a tri top. Edited September 13, 2010 by Seth
pevadijk
Ok, this may sound silly: but what is a high power cut or more specifically, how does it look like?
Seth
Its the narrowing of the front of the slide. Look at the 4th slot on my picture - you can see the step down.
pevadijk
I get it now: indeed just like the FN High-Power Edited September 13, 2010 by pevadijk

Merlin Orr
Looks good but I will not build another gun without some type of front cocking serrations. Mine is flat topped with the HP cut and it can be a pain on occasion. I miss the front "grippyness" for my guns. You know, there is a big ol handle in the back of them guns to hold on ta. Mine also has the same cut on the rear with no serrations. With my vice grip like finger strength I thought I did not need them at all. Wrong. Robert Snyder
Check out my post above, Avery Systems 9 Major. It will show a tri-top with slots as I don't believe in thinning the muzzle. Robert
Pat Miles
I had Tripp do a thin High Power cut on my new 6", but I opted for lightening slots instead of a tri top. That perfect blend of the High Power cut and 4th slide lightening cut is freekin sweet! Outstanding attention to detail. Pat
