gmantwo
I've been patiently waiting for the 9mm Taurus 1911 to become available, but no luck. Has anyone else heard anything at least somewhat reliable?
ParaGunner
I don't own any,but a friend has a kimber 9mm 1911 and it runs great.
hankfan79
I called and ask Taurus about those. They stated "Sometime in the fall of 2009". Does that tell you anything?
Tattoo
I talked to them at SHOT and got some BS answer like " when there is enough demand from our dealers" Yeeeaah.... like all that demand for the .38 Super that they made instead. Yeah nobody wants a 9mm 1911. T
ParaGunner
You might look at the STI Spartan 9mm also.
gmantwo
Well, I could buy a 38 Super Taurus and have a 9mm barrel put in and still have less in it than an STI Spartan. Don't get me wrong, I love my STI 2011 and my Executive, but I'm wanting to build a Bianchi gun and money is a big consideration.
Bob DuBois
Go for the Spartan 9mm.
rrflyer
The spartans are like 625 bucks. I thought the Taurus were about that price as well?!?!?
Tattoo
Go for the Spartan 9mm. +1 I got tired of Taurus and got a Spartan too. Very happy w/ it.
EkuJustice
Ya I dont know where your going to get a taurus with a new barrel installed for less than a spartan. Another difference is if the taurus has problems your on your own since it wasnt sold as a 9mm. The spartan is 630 and is pretty good right out of the box and has a great warranty. Every taurus I have seen is about that price. Quality wise, the spartan is MUCH nicer than the taurus.

2alpha
What Benny said, I wouldn't even consider using a Taurus as a basis for a Bianchi gun. You are going to put a lot of money into what Benny said.
gmantwo
Thanks, my other STI's were so expensive, I had no idea the Spartan was so reasonable.
