The TEAM AMISH Website

Flatland Shooter

Recommended Posts

Feeling left out, last year a friend and I started the extremely exclusive "TEAM AMISH". For Christmas my daughter, a graphics designer, gave me several shooting shirts with the new "Team Amish" logo. With membership doubling each year (we now have seven members), she felt a website would be a fitting birthday present.

At your convenience, take a look.

Happy Birthday!

Hope it's ok to join the site, have to keep up with all goings on with Team Amish!

To join, for initiation, do I have to make a piece of furniture or do a horse and wagon race for a particular amount of time? Just wondering how I can get in on this ;)

A few loaves of friendship bread go a long way....

Did you find out your Amish name yet? Here's a link to the English-to-Amish-Name-Translator "]English-to-Amish-Name-Translator.

I promise, there is no video attached. ;)

Several years ago the Fort Wayne IN club held the IN section match and the theme was "Shootin' mit the Amish". Their club is smack in the middle of NW IN Amish country. Political correctness being what it is, they did take some flak for the slogan and T shirts. Seemed to be all in good fun, but you can't please some people.

The hat is cool, my friend a DR/pathologist showed up at a carbine match with one just like that red tee shirt shorts and a Thompson. All the ATAS crowed about droped thier hydration packs. (ATAS "as tactical as shxt").

I tried the English to Amish name translator and it tells me that my name is Zebadiah King. So how many others will get this name as well?

Brian

Dear Zebadaiah,

Not too many people. I was told in confidence that at least eight first names and at least four last names are available to us.

Sincerely,

Amos Yoder

I work in northern Indiana in Amish land , They love guns too. A know a guy that has a few class 3 guns and he go out a Amish Farmer's to shoot them . He has the Amish Farmer on tape shooting one of them. I went to a auction of a Amish guy selling most of his guns and he had a better supply than the gun shops in my town. Most are rifles though.

My boss is a Yoder too.

I grew up in Ohio Amish country (a stones throw from Sugarcreek) and saw many Amish hunters during rabbit season. The few rifles I saw them use were old .22's. The typical shotgun was a double barrel 12 or 16 gauge. Not one was a safe queen. All had many years of use.

There are quite a lot of Amish and Mennonite folk in this area and those that I have met all have a fairly good (and earthy) sense of humor. I rather expect they would enjoy the irony of a "Team Amish".

P.S. I cannot speak to the authenticity of this, but it's pretty funny.

It wasn't the Amish who were upset.

OK, where did you get the T-Shirt made? How did you get the T-Shirt made? I sense a marketing opportunity here...

Hey, I just noticed, you seem to be a Team member. Welcome to the club, Jebadaiah.

Flatlandshooter had four or five shirts made that he shared with a couple guys from Houston.

I am not sure we'll try to reach the 100 members mark any time soon, possibly negating the need for bulk orders of shirts.

Cool shirt, though, isn't it?

I love the slogan they came up with: A horse and a buggy away from Grandmaster.

How can the Team Amish leader drive a pick up and use a cell phone? + I didn't get a shirt like Roman did!
