  1. The tinnitus does not affect your hearing? It is annoying and I was under the impression that was part of the noise induced hearing loss. I should get to an audiologist but it is so hard to know which one is good and which one is just trying to sell products. I failed a hearing test in high school from old school dirt bikes with almost no silencer and construction equipment noise.
  2. I think that our brains not having to manage raging hormones all the time give us more clarity of purpose as we get older. Now if we only had the energy and eyesight that we had in our 30's!
  3. thanks for the info. I take either Aleve or Motrin before shooting or golf. It is not as sore afterward but this new knuckle locking out is odd and painful. The finger exerciser seems to aggravate it but possibly short term? I don't know that was why I was looking for anyone that has gone thru it.
  4. My arthritis in my two middle fingers of my right hand are really acting up again after a recent incident. I am having trouble with a steady grip as a result. Sometimes the third finger locks down toward my palm and when it releases it is very painful. I am flexing the joints and taking vitamins. I just broke out my old finger grip strengthener to see if that might help. Any advice from first hand real world experience would be appreciated.
  5. there are several versions available to 3d print if you are setup for that. Best information is on the X10 Facebook groups
  6. I have a question about the various extended base pads. The Taylor Freelance with MBX spring and follower will hold 22 rounds and they state clearly it is 140mm The Henning basepads say 141.x and can be used for limited and open in USPSA. Carry optics is 140 I believe. Would the extra mm and some change be a disqualificaton?
  7. the long one is for .38 the shorter one for .357 due to the difference in cartridge length
  8. I picked up a Darkside Rival S with Mekanic 02 optic for $999. Still at my local gunshop awaiting them to do the FFL paperwork for the transfer. Family Firearms are the best!
  9. I am interested in your Holosun.  I believe you recently sent me a message about buying a Dillon Powder measure from a 650 I was selling.  Maybe we can work a trade?  I have two powder measures/drops to sell along with two Dillon 650 tool heads, a couple of conversion kits, a tool head stand and 300 blackout hornady dies

      They are nice

  10. looks nice! That would make the grip wider also. I like that idea.
  11. I was able to handle an S at a gun shop today and it feels a bit thicker maybe than the polymer but that may have just been the additional weight settling it more. It really felt nice but they would not bring the case out for me to see the extra grips. They were $300 over MSRP so I was not going to be a buyer at that price and they were non-negotiable
  12. Can one of you that owns a Rival S tell me if the larger grip panel makes the grip thicker from side to side as well as simply in the rear as most "palm swells" do. I have XL hands and don't like to have to overlap them too much on hot days. It is interesting that in the "old days" of 1911's and revolvers going wider was always what aftermarket grips did and we seem so caught up in the easy to install backstrap that making modern guns, especially polymer ones, wider seems to have been abandoned. Most people with true large hands need both dimensions increased to preserve distance to trigger and grip lie.
  13. can you post a pic of your gun with the tennis grip?
  14. I had a moment of weakness just now and hit "add to cart" on the darkside. I guess Karma is trying to tell me something because Mike must have grabbed the last one.
  15. This is great information, thank you1 I will be moving to an optic shortly and was a bit concerned about losing some access to the serrations on the rear of the slide. Grabbing the optic could really come in handy sometimes.
  16. Thanks for the tip! I want the chrome and it is not in stock but I put myself on the notification list. Great prices. The darkside is available and I am afraid that the "darkside" may lure me over if I don't get a notification soon.
  17. Palmetto State Armory has the Darkside S in stock at only $100 over MSRP. Chrome in stock for only $250 over MSRP! I really want one but I will not contribute to this craziness
  18. Primer and 9mm ammo prices seem to go up and down as fast as gas prices! When it hits that valley buy, buy, buy!
  19. I recently purchased a very well used 650. In setting it up I could not get the primer wheel to index fully. After speaking with customer a couple of times they sent me a primer block that mounts to the frame at n/c. I had a bag of parts and had replaced the primer arm and spring already. After the block arrived and I mounted it the indexing of the primer wheel was still not enough to allow the seating pin to align to the hole. I paid the $125 refurb fee and shipping back to Dillon. I just received back last Friday and wow! It now has a new frame, new platform, entire new priming assembly, and all of the parts in the case feed slider assembly. It is basically a brand new 650! I know those words excite a few of you that think the 650 is better than the 750. I have to say that I was originally grumbling about the $180 bucks I laid out for refurb and shipping but what I received for my money was well worth it. I called them and let them know that their service went well above what I had expected.
  20. Chef, quite hoarding so the rest of us can find an S!!! LOL
  21. We are still so privileged to live in the US. I have been in Australia for five and to use the cigarettes for an example, they are around $55 a pack on average and not allowed to able to be visible so that you are not tempted. I am happy to see primers becoming a bit more available online. Hopefully more local stores will start having stock as the hazmat fees are annoying.
  22. I started competitive shooting Denver at Aurora Gun Club. A great group of guys in the area at that time. You will get a lot of support. A good number of ranges and clubs within decent driving distance.
  23. Using Lee dies sounds like taking your cousin to a high school dance. Looks good, all the right moves, but you don't really want to tell anyone you do it! LOL
