  1. So I'm looking at stepping completely away from the GLUNK I have in an IWB for daily carry and am having a h**l of a time deciding between the VIP and the Total Eclipse. Want a double stack 45 and seriously narrowed it down to these two. Thoughts - anyone with hands on experience with them? Gracias
  2. Pleased to know Im not the only one

    XDm Open.

NICE! Interested to know if that holsters "button" has been disabled of if you still have to SERPA it. Did you send the gun off to Springer for his whizbang trigger set ups?
  4. For what its worth Ive had them on 6 mags for about a year. Used them in range sessions, informal comps, and some fairly intense class work - not a problem so far. Springs seem at least as good if not better (probably better) than the stock ones. Several of the mags have been loaded for months on end and function fine. Used in G22 and G35........
  5. Something happened to his website and hes trying like h*ll to put another one together - www.kytac.net. Ill pass along this thread to him........
  6. I "think" I see the possible problem - with the lock in the 12 o clock position it seems the lever is hitting the mag release (as it does with mine). If this is the case it will pull the gun further from the proper set. Of course Im probably wrong.........

    STS vs Jpoint

That's what I thought. I'm pretty sure Ill just suck it up and do the STS route so I don't end up having to buy another frame.

    STS vs Jpoint

Just a few screws and a couple of rounds to confirm zero. Without sounding too stupid, is that something that's done? Pulling the mount and replacing it often?

    STS vs Jpoint

I have both sitting here but if I go that route I cant swap out to the limited setup without taking the mount off. I would think that would be more trouble than its worth right?
  10. Maybe this should be "frame vs slide mount" - either way I picked up a 2011 worked up by Bedell and it came with an open setup as well as limited. The JPoint on it is pretty rough and the dot is impossibly small so a change is needed. Id rather have a "normal" C-More mounted but doing that it takes away the ability to change out slide setups. Im minutes away from ordering a STS with 7 MOA and having it "melted" in to the open top. Thoughts, suggestions..................
  11. Before I get crucified, I did several searches but couldnt find a comparison so here is my question - whats the difference between the Quinn II and the Cheely mount? Im ready to buy one or the other but really would like to know the difference.........
  12. Actually...... Part of the interest is that indeed the slide WILL lock back. Once the mag drops any movement at all and the stop slips. I want to find a replacement so if I screw this one up making it NOT lock back Ill have another. Several other folks want one as well.
  13. Just picked this pistol up and Im trying to ID the slide stop.
  14. Just looked in the Safariland catalog and cant find a holster for the 5" XD - if you can find the model number for the one your friends have I can see if its available - PM me
  15. Best you can get is from KYTAC - tell him DOMFORT sent you.........
  16. TDS has P-mags as well as L5 by Lancer which are very good as well - www.tds-us.com
  17. Modify http://www.tds-us.com/catalog.php/tds/pd987956 http://www.tds-us.com/catalog.php/tds/pd987955
  18. For what its worth, I have both a 4 and 5 45XD worked up by Springer Precision and use a Sooper Hooper holster by www.kytac.com. Their made for the size so you cant use the 4 for a 5 but the holster beats anything Ive seen - even the DOH boys that see this are having one made up.
  19. Try KyTac - David makes great F A S T holsters - crappy website but the holsters are great - www.kytac.com. I use his for my XD 4 and 5 inch 45's...................
  20. Thanks Guys - knew this was the right place to ask!!
  21. Im familiar (very) with the rules and requirements for checking in my pistol(s), but havent needed to carry my range bag and all the stuff that goes along with that. What are the rules on this? What do those of you who fly to compete do to get your stuff there with you? Advice and information would be appreciated.
