  1. I think to find actual working units that use the CZ, one would have to travel "Across the Pond" For many years after its design, it was not even available in this country, as were many Eastern block firearms. The CZ-75 is the "1911" of Europe, and you can see its design cues in EAA, Tangfolio, Jericho etc. pistols. The poll of the USPSA production nationals has shown almost 20% of shooters use the CZ, tangfolio, or EAA witness(they are lumped into one catageory. They are accurate, Reliable, and reasonably priced (although prices have begun to increase due to increased popularity.) Go to Europe and look on some LEO hips and you will sure to see it.
  2. trigger, smigger ... a sexual addict can be triggered by a banana!!.... and pistols are he he....kinda phallic
  3. Here is some muzzle flash for ya...LOL 1944 mosin Nagant....and surplus ammo ;-)
  4. Singlestack, I would respectfully disagree..... The Production division "gun race" is greatly exaggerated. I shoot a CZ75B ($410 NIB)have an Uncle mikes gun belt ($10), mag holders (2 @ 14.95), 3 mags (the gun came with two) from meg-car ($20.00 @), and a Fobus Holster ($23). Grand Total...$533. Modifactions, $3 in skate board tape (best single mod!!) and $1.50 in a sharpie marker to black out the rear sight dots. I spend $$ on ammo for practice. (best $$ spent IMHO) I am competitive in my division. I have even won a few stages.....beating guys with all thier high dollar mods, and I have been shooting USPSA since JUNE. I also just had my IDPA orientation and shot my first IDPA match this weekend and had a blast! Bottom line, both are fun, both have rules, both you point your gun at a target and make it go boom. My suggestion SHOOT BOTH, and have fun at it, but don't think you have to break the bank to be competitive in either Discipline, USPSA or IDPA
  5. When I shoot my first IDPA match....which will be this winter....It will be with my CZ75B that I also shoot in USPSA production. Points better for me than the Glocks.
  6. Sounds like it will be ssp.....besides I don't want all that double action first shot practice go to waste...
  7. Yes, any day shootin beats ANY day workin.....nuther question then...if I shoot ssp, Can I manually drop the Hammer during the LAMR, my Pistola does not have a decocker...its a manual safety. Unless any mods are done that force it into ESP, shooting DA/SA would put you in SSP. Starting cocked and locked would mean shooting in ESP. Either way is fun! No mods save for some skate tape n blacked out rear sight dots, pistol is stock. ESP I can shoot cocked and locked....hmmmmm
  8. Hi all, I have been shooting USPSA with my CZ75B in Production, and I am attending an IDPA new shooter orientation class next week. Just curious as to what class my CZ would land in?? ps. big thumbs up to fellow CZ shooter Matt Mink Great job this year!!
  9. I have a 75b made in 2006 and the mags stuck a bit when brand new....that lasted about 2 days, I just reached in by hand and pushed the mag brake flat and worked the creases a bit with finger pressure. I then did about 50+ practice mag changes (about 10 per mag) and they now fall out nice and free. (using 2 stock 16 round mags and 3 mec-gar mags). I love the way the CZ shoots...points well and runs well on anything but cci blazer aluminum case rounds. (blazer brass ok) I have about 2000 rounds thru mine now and love it!
  10. Depending on your preferences/skill level etc. there are many good options out there, the advantages of the Glocks/XDs are ease of use. Draw gun, aim gun, pull trigger. That being said, I shoot a CZ 75B 9mm in Production. It is an DA/SA gun with a manual safety, and can be operated in either mode as well as having the possiblity of being carried "condition 1" (cocked and locked). For me it is a more natural grip fit, and it is more accurate for me than anything else i have shot. On the ease of use side, I have to manually drop the hammer during the LAMR, when shooting production. They do make decocker versions of the same gun, which from an ease of use perspective would make it better for production, but would limit it to production only. The 75B could play in production, limited, and limited10 with little or no mods sans possibly a magwell and a good trigger job. I shoot mine bone stock, in production, and it is 100% reliable, which is more important to me than any one feature it may or may not have. (plus they retail for about $425 with 2 mags). A glock or xd would be a fine choice. Research them all, try what you like, and shoot what fits.
  11. Hey Tim... are you going to the Sectionals next week? Darren
  12. I am also going down to Holmen, WI. (about 1 1/2 hrs south) to shoot on sept 17th if yer interested.
  13. There are a few around....but the outdoor stuff is about done. Oakdale gun club has great matches running from April to August. Do a search on uspsa.com I think there is gonna be some indoor stuff this winter in Burnsville.
  14. man.....after reading all that......I will still use one eye.
  15. +1 I don't expect to be competitive with a GM (or an A or B for that matter) and no amount of super duper mods Is gonna make the difference. Case in Point- I know of a certain Production shooter that has about $500 in mods to an XD 9mm tactical, 2lb trigger, buried bomars, who knows what else...still cant hit the broad side of a barn.....and there are those i have seen with guns that I know are stock...that kick #$$. Mods wont change a bad grip, poor trigger control, or slow reflexes.....Shooting is a physical skill. Rules will always be pushed to the very edge......otherwise we wouldn't need any.
  16. +1 to lawman....I think you have hit on something here that is important, For the most part, stock auto pistols have come along way in function and reliability, and a new shooter(I am one.....six matches) don't have to break the bank to play. I can spend $400 on an off the shelf glock, taurus, CZ75, another 100 for Holster, mag holders, belt. Some extra mags an ammo and I am up and shooting. As long as the gun runs, it can out run all but the very best shooters. Why do we see 41% glock usage on this forum?? like lawman said, buy one, grip tape, sights(personal preference), mags , and you can be competitive. That said I placed 7th out of 16 shooters in production with a freakin HI-POINT 9mm for chrissakes, IN MY FIRST MATCH...and that is the cheapest of the cheap!! was it the gun??? the trigger job.....no....it was cause i PRACTICED WITH IT TILL MY HANDS BLED! I say Leave the Rules alone and go buy 5000 rounds of ammo....instead of some fancy widget...and get to shootin. May the best shooter (notice i didn't say best GUN) win!!
  17. I had the same experience with a HI-Point C9, My CZ75B in 9mm arrives next week ($409 with 2 mags, a case, mag loader and 2 snapcaps) The HI-point is on it's way to the factory (their warranty dept is excellent), and will get relegated to plinkin duty.
  18. And I just bought a cz for production.....(please leave the rules alone) newbie shooter 2 cts
