  1. I wonder if it's my titanium cylinder being the culprit then ? I was actually pretty suprised the 3.0 clays @ 1.20 was very hard to extract. I am surprised too. That's why I mentioned my results. I actually heard of a guy shooting a major load with a 160gr bullet at 1.20. I went to that length after having extraction problems at shorter OAL with the same load.
  2. I run 38SC with 3.0 gr of Clays also at 1.2" and extraction is smooth. I am using a steel cylinder.
  3. I still have powder, but I can't experiment. I want to try a load with N350 and I can't find it.
  4. I was concerned about the lack of information before the match last year. However, from the moment that I started walking stages before the match, until it ended I had a great time. I hope you guys have a great time.
  5. I would rather swing a five inch barrel than a 6.5 inch barrel. Just for reference my five inch barrel S&W has the same sight radius as my 6" STI. I would not want to use a 6.5 inch barrel gun for steel challenge.
  6. It seem silly (and overly complicated) to limit someone that started Major and had to switch to Minor (due to equipment failure) to Major capacity (Rev or SS) after the switch since all of his stages will be scored Minor. They are already taking a scoring penalty (to all there Major shot stages) for the switch why then artificially limit capacity after the switch. It also will cause scoring difficulties. If a competitor has to switch from Major to Minor how will the RO's in the stages after the switch know that this one Minor shooter has to reload after 6 shots? You can always shoot major pf loads out of your eight shot revolver and reload after six.
  7. These scenarios would be a lot simpler if a man could just keep the pf that the earned.
  8. I did the same thing and noticed that it also changed the grip angle of my wrist. I suspect that the original grip angle is better for handling the recoil. I went back to the original.
  9. With a solid commitment from John and Mike to provide beer and cigars to revo shooters we will have exponential growth.
  10. IMHO 15 rounds in production wouldn't make much difference. It might make a difference if you have multiple positions with few shots, but in the average match where each shooting position has close to eight shots it won't make much difference. If you can't reload your gun between ports in production you are not going to compete. Many, perhaps most, shooters agree that reloading at slide lock can be a bad thing. To take full advantage of 15+1 you would have to reload at slide lock. If you need seven make-up shots you are not going to compete. Good production shooters would dump on the ground a magazine with six or seven rounds instead of a magazine with one or two rounds in it.
  11. Are you sure I was talking about you?
  12. I didn't get a card, but I frequently visit that site. There are lots of dedicated revolver shooters and one smart-ass.
  13. You might ask the ICORE folks to update their website. Everything about this match is still listed as TBD.
  14. Buy the extended latch, but practice just hitting the latch for a while.
  15. You can think of it as a great learning experience. Pick a few skills to improve on between now and then. Make the match your final exam. OR Take my approach and think of it as a weekend out with the guys without adult supervision.
  16. How about set up a single stage on Sunday. Guess your own time before shooting. The shooter closest to his own time takes the pot.
  17. I asked for vacation scheduling. If the match ends by 2PM I can drive home and make it to work Monday. The idea of an IRC style shoot off sounds like fun. I like how all the juniors get to participate in the shoot off.
  18. Will Sunday be a full day of shooting? What time do you expect to be done?
  19. I think we are all taper crimping 38 short colt. You shouldn't have to worry about crimping at the cannelure.
  20. I didn't think it was possible for Bubber to get older. I thought he had already converged into infinity.
