  1. If you search it you will see it's been around a long time. I'm not sure why it's not more popular. Sighting it in might be a little more difficult though. That's the major complaint with it. You have to either reverse the windage screw and drill and tap a hole for the lock screw, or take the slide off the adjust the windage.
  2. Barry's mount came before the well known 90* mouints. I honestly never notice the body of the mount to the side, so even the 90s would probably be ok for me. (I'm lucky if I notice the targets. LOL) Barry is a good friend of mine, so I use his mount...
  3. I didn't shoot this year, but I have shot Back to Back Nationals in the past. There is always a "change-over" day where the staff moves stuff around to change the stages (however slight). This is usually the same day as registration/check in for the second match. The matches are separate, because the USPSA says they are. Don't over think this one. Your local club can do the same thing if it wants to. You could have "back to back" matches on Saturday and Sunday. You can DQ on Saturday, then come back on Sunday to try again, as long as they are separate matches.
  4. That's exactly what it means. There were two matches. There was a Open and Limited 10 Nationals. Then there was a Production, Limited, and Revolver Nationals that started after the completion of the Open/Lim10 match. 2 separate matches. If you got DQd at the first, you still shoot the second.
  5. Anytime I shoot a Classifier or a stage with a round count higher than 30...
  6. I have to wonder why you had it close enough to attract attention? What is the proper distance behind the point of the hips? Far enough so you don't have a CRO poking you looking for your hip bone! What if the CRO is cute? Oh my! Is that a 170mm mag in your front pocket or are you just happy to see me? Yes.
  7. I have to wonder why you had it close enough to attract attention? What is the proper distance behind the point of the hips? Far enough so you don't have a CRO poking you looking for your hip bone! You mean RO's place their hands on you. With your invitation ideally...... I have a pretty good idea where the hipbones end -- so I don't need to touch you to make the call. Now on appeal, if you were to suggest, "my hipbones come farther forward, please feel" as part of the request for reconsideration, that could happen..... No one -- to the best of my reading recollection -- is suggesting that there is random groping going on..... There should be more random groping. Normally, that costs more...

  10. What if he didn't say the words and just wrote them? Should he wash his hands, instead?
  11. Before you do anything, understand that Amidon's opinion is not law. I highly doubt that anyone at a major match is going to call you on it. So, I wouldn't worry about it, but that's just me. I'd be inclined to agree. +1 You have "more" of the gun to remove from the holster (G17 vs. G34). By shooting a G34, your draw is actually "harder". If you are really worried about it, heat, bend, and glue a small piece of plastic to the bottom of the holster. There are a lot of guys on this board that play with Kydex. Have one of them mail you a piece or two of scrap and make the holster "legal".
  12. I shot that for a few years, off and on, while playing in Production also. Then I took a few years off. The thing I like most is, you can easily go back and forth with Open and Limited with very little adjustment. The dot is just above where the sights would be. You don't have to relearn the gun mount. I shot back to back Nationals, Limited then Open, and didn't feel "off". Now that I am pretty sure I earned my M card in Production this year (waiting for classifiers to get updated), I'm going back to Open. The gun is almost the same. I stippled the grip, added a slide racker, and am going to add a thumb-rest. I will say this, if your reloads aren't great, shoot Production for a year. Then reloading to an Open gun is cake...
  13. lol I guess I should have kept reading. I posted that years ago...
  14. This There is already a rule that covers this. non-issue
  15. 18,197 members 5,501 members voted (30%) 12,696 did not vote (70%) Wonder how many of those NON-VOTING members actually participated in any USPSA event in the past 12 months. I got back into shooting this year after a few years off. By "off" I mean shooting 1 match a year at my home club, just to keep the rust off. The last Presidential election ballot didn't get sent in. I had no opinion and really wasn't following along either online or with the Front Sight. I voted this year...
  16. As I've said before, there are two different types of ROs...
  17. I love slide rackers, especially the side-winder...
  18. +1. IMO, it really sends the wrong message. If I were to encounter this at a local, I might get in my car and go home. I have no desire to pretend I'm shooting at people. You are shooting at a target with a torso and a head... You see it your way, I see it mine. I do not see it as a "torso and a head". It's a piece of cardboard. It could be a paper plate for all I care. If you choose to pretend it has a "torso and a head", have at it. Now, seriously...

  20. Brilliant! Easy and makes sense. Thank You (Pres and BOD)!
