  1. If/when I get serious about chasing points I will undoubtedly get a .40, probably a 2011. Currently I'm only intending to have fun and get better.
  2. This makes a lot of sense. When I look at an illuminated RDS reticle I get the same image, but dimmer of the reticle ghosted off to the side and slightly elevated. One eye open, all GTG.
  3. It's strange, I'm 20/20 in both eyes with my contacts in. Both eyes have the same prescription for lenses. I explained it to my optometrist and that was what she told me after a few exercises but she isn't exactly s shooting enthusiast so she didn't have the best advice for workarounds, haha.
  4. Thank you everyone for the suggestions. I have a set of the WX shooting glasses with the replaceable lenses so I'm going to start by taping one while doing dryfire practice from now on. I think a lot of it comes from the fact that I've shot my bow with my left eye closed for the last 15+ years. With a bow all of my shots are stationary very rarely pressed for time. It's going to take training reps to adjust.
  5. It's hard to explain, when I bring the sights into my field of view with both eyes open the front sight post becomes blurred/doubled. When I say focus my vision, I mean aligning the front sight post over my target. I brought it up with my optometrist and she did a couple basic exercises and basically told me my brain is using the majority of the information from my right eye and only a small portion from my left. If I draw using my right eye only, I am able to see my objective, bring the front sight post to my field of vision and remain clear. Like I said, it's hard to explain in words what I'm seeing. It's also totally possible I am doing something wrong. The extent of my training basically comes from picking up a fun a gun and enjoying shooting.
  6. I just tried with my carry gun and even when I bring it up to my right eye (turns out this is how I've been doing it since I started shooting) and keep both eyes open, I lose the front sight post when I try to focus my vision. Right eye only, all is good.
  7. Right handed. I will practice bringing the gun up to my dominant eye and working both eyes open. I've shot archery my whole life with my left eye closed, but the stance there is quite different, you draw to your dominant eye and everything is very relaxed. When attending long shoots with my bow I have used a literal eye patch for my left eye, but that's a diciplin where you're stationary for every shot.
  8. Hey all, I am currently collecting gear for my first season of USPSA. I have a 9mm TSO on the way and will be shooting in the limited division. I am a late bloomer to shooting sports and have a question. I am extremely right eye dominant. When I pick a focal point both eyes open and make a triangle around it with my hands, when I close my right eye it completely disappears from my field of view. When I view with my left eye closed it hardly moves at all. I've never been able to shoot any optic both eyes open, and find myself straining to keep my left eye closed after some time on the range. Does anyone have suggestions for exercises or possibly form to help in this regard? I'm not chasing points of championships, just looking to become a better shooter and have fun.
  9. I ended up ordering a CZ TSO for limited after seeing the 2020 STI lineup. I too hoped for and entry level 5" double stack but understand the lack of market for them. It's a bit surprising to me since I still see a lot of limited shooters at the matches I have attended, but I realize it's a small sample size.
  10. Lose another 30lbs, I lost 60 in 2019. Compete and finish my first USPSA match, would like to shoot half a dozen before year's end. Continue purchasing necessary gear to compete in 3 gun. Continue training in all forms of shooting sports and defensive carry.

  12. Dogs are too good for this world!
  13. Are you rolling the cam all the way over when you pull it?
  14. I use the SS pins and the Frankfort wet tumbler. I give them a good shake and roll in a towel then run them in a dehydrator I got from Goodwill for a couple bucks. Works great!
  15. I was kind of thinking a race holster would give me some adaptability for the future. I know I want to play with a RDS and larger *thumb rest [generic]* in the future. I'm not against a different holster for different purposes either, I anticipate the majority of my shooting will be USPSA.
  16. Hey all, I have a TSO ordered and should be here by this weekend. I am looking at putting together my rig and have a couple of questions. My immediate plan is to shoot USPSA limited but I eventually want to work into three gun as well. For a little more than I was going to spend on a hanger/holster from Ben Stoeger, I can get into a race holster from Ghost or DAA. I am a little apprehensive about retention when running and shooting prone in three gun. This is my first jump into shooting sports so my concerns may be unfounded, but I would like the opinons of experts.
  17. I love, love, love the Parrot models. That being said, you could pick up a TSO and a Shadow 2 for the same price (Or less) than a Parrot brings. I'm one of those people that is never happy to settle for anything less than exactly what I want so I understand. I'd put my hands on all the options you are considering and see how each one feels to you.
  18. Primary Machine is also offering a slide cut package for them that makes CO weight but doesn't use interchangable plates like the CZC setup. Someone (Maybe primary as well?) Was also offering a milled CO legal slide for about $700. Also I firmly believe function > form but when compared to a Shadow 2 that Walther is an ugly duckling.
  19. Excellent work! Truly a lot to be proud of there.
  20. I need someone with more time to come shoot it for me. I will admit though it ran well with mediocre inexpensive ammo, the light piston and a modified choke.
  21. I had mine out today for the first time. Ran great on Fiocci #7.5 but any time I tried to load it 5+1 it would choke trying to eject the first round. If I ran it with just the 5 in the mag it was fine. Anyone else have this issue?
  22. It looks like some careful modification to that sling mount may help. I will play with it when it comes in and see if I can't get it lined up. Thanks for the answers and pictures guys!
  23. So a standard AR rifle length tube for a fixed stock threaded on to the lower and has had no issues with using a standard rifle length buffer spring? Sorry, not trying to overly complicate the process but just want to be absolutely sure. I have a Luth MBA3 in my cart right now but I would strongly prefer the fixed MBA1. I had been told previously that a rifle length tube wouldn't work on this application.
