  1. I will also be starting to load 125 jacketed for the cz. Switching from blue bullets and switching powders as well. I will echo this as well, don't just load something how someone tells you, go through the steps outlined above and you will be good. Make sure you have a chronograph as well, it is crucial to understanding what you are doing.
  2. It's good for classifiers and should be practiced when starting out but after you got that down you can filter that into multiple shot drills. For example, my favorite is a draw one shot then far hard transition one shot. It's it works your first shot and more importantly to the sport over all is your transition speed.
  3. I would be in the court of take off the irons. The idea of the red dot is to have an infinite focal plane. Usually when I give it to people who have no experience with them and only irons, I tell them to open both of their eyes and look at the target, now bring the gun up without looking at it and put the red over the target with your hands. Switching to red dot is a mental thing for sure. You cannot focus on the red dot at all. You need to be focused on target always and just moving the red dot over where you want to shoot. Having the sights there automatically brings that focal plane to your hands and is counterproductive to learning the speed of the red dot.
  4. I tend to have music on during a match at all times except shooting. I tend to get distracted about what song is playing when walking up to the start position and what will be playing during shooting. Other than that, listening while at a match at all other times has helped me be more relaxed and confident. Edit: I also run the peltor 500's and love them.
  5. There are studies that do show some data that the techniques that halo apply do improve motor coordination immediately after use. But is it any considerable advantage that people should use who are not top athletes? no. and simply because there is no data of what neural electrical conditioning does to the brain long term. In the short term, it does make the brain more pliable to learning but no one really knows what effect it has on long term brain function and health.
  6. I personally would up the dryfire time with weak hand dramatically. If you do it everyday, squeeze the s#!t out of the gun, and really be stringent on your sights then you will over time build the strength you need to support it. Obviously, time at the range practicing the technique is essential but dryfiring correctly will get the gun in your weak hand for significantly more time than just the live fire.
  7. I've got both. I have much more experience with the 2.5 dot though. I recently bought the 7.5 delta to have an extra and will find something to put it on eventually. But after seeing both and messing around with them, i like the 2.5 better for uspsa. There's a lot of theory behind the delta; zero for long shots at tip of triangle and aim center triangle for close stuff etc. But frankly, for uspsa, its just more simple to use the dot. The delta gets complicated and even if you can learn it and be very fast, i think it is an unnecessary hoop to jump through.
  8. Yes it seems it could be the 147 grain. I have been loading universal clays for both pistol and pcc (scorpion). Which I think is a slow powder. But switched to titegroup for this upcoming year and I’m not sure what my load will be. Planning to use 125 jacketed RN. And I will also be running a GMR 15 as well. I’m very worried that it will burn too quick on an adequate pistol load.
  9. yeah me as well. Which are the most active forums?
  10. I'm definitely going to be implementing these techniques this week. Switched to carry optics recently and have trouble tracking the dot straight up and down.
