  1. I'll take some pictures next time I run across one. Trash day was yesterday though, so the ones I had are gone now.

    CZ Custom optics cut

I also have guns with both, and I have had properly torqued optics come loose on the open ones. But again, not running down CZC's work here. Just offering up a different opinion/viewpoint. I would for sure opt for their newer steel adapter plates, though.

    CZ Custom optics cut

Yeah, I know. But I've seen a lot more of that type come loose than when the optic is tight in a pocket.
  4. Ran into some really odd brass. It's ZQI brand and it has a stepped interior. The bottom near the primer pocket is quite thick, the middle is stepped down a little and the mouth is normal. My RCBS sizer die does not like them. I can pull them through with a lot of effort, but I've just been removing them and tossing them. No staked pockets, so they don't look like military stuff. Anybody else run into these?
  5. Good video, same one I linked to earlier in this thread.
  6. Correct. I use 9mm RCBS dies on my 650XL, because I already owned them when I bought my 650. The dies came with both RN and flat nosed plugs.
  7. That's what I'm thinking at this point. Maybe just buy the bullet feeder for my 650 and call it good.

    CZ Custom optics cut

I almost went with the CZC plate system. They even offer steel plates now instead of the aluminum. Weigh a fraction more but no worries on pulling the threads on those small optic screws while torqueing them. But the gap in the front bothered me from both an aesthetic and function view point (easier to come loose when not held tightly by the cut). I also want the optic as close to the bore as possible, so raising with a plate just did not speak to me. Not casting aspersions on CZC. They do great work. Just my thoughts on it. I ended up going with CGW and got a direct cut for the Trijicon RMR/SRO. Very happy with the setup. Not as flexible, but most are pretty happy with the Trijicon options.
  9. Thanks for the pictures. Looks doable. Looks like I'll have a lot of time to make a decision. 1050/1100's are in short supply, and I have no reason to pay a premium.
  10. Thanks for the info. Watching videos, it looks like the 1050/1100 has a considerably bigger footprint. Since you have both, what is your take on that? That could be a concern for me as my bench has somewhat limited space.
  11. No, I was asking why the 1100 would produce almost twice as many loads than the 650 if they were similarly equipped. DDC explained it though, since the 650 does not come with the case feeder. That would drastically slow things down. I have the case feeder on my 650. That was the reason I upgraded from my old RCBS progressive actually. There is no case feeder option for it.
  12. But why would that be if both are setup the same, like not motorized and no bullet feeder?
  13. Sorry folks, I remembered after posting that I should have mentioned I only load 9mm with my 650. I load several other calibers, but very low quantity. I use my old RCBS for that since I already have the dies. And I use the RCBS dies for the 650, so I already have an open station if I wanted to add a bullet dropper. I appreciate the input so far.
  14. Long time reloader. Bought my 650XL a couple of years ago. Owned an RCBS progressive and MEC progressive for 20+ years before that. I like the 650 well enough and it's a low maint machine as far as having to tweak this or that to keep it producing. That's one of the reasons I went Dillon. My RCBS seemed like it needed regular tuning and I heard the same about the Hornady progressive. The 650 is a very solid machine. Once setup for a load, it just goes and goes. Anyway, I've been looking at the 1050/1100, wondering if there is much gain there. I understand the stroke difference, primer seating difference and apparent smoothness difference. But my question is, will I produce bullets faster if I move up? And if so, why? I have very few problems with primer seating or primer pockets. I searched for a thread about this and found a link, but it's very old and no longer working. So if there is a thread addressing this, I apologize and ask for a link to said topic. Thanks
  15. Yep, at Bass Pro and Cabela's stores. I've picked up 9K of them in the last couple of months. But you usually need to get there early on the days they get shipments. Primers go fast. Paying at or below MSRP. Picked up a 1K of CCI SPP for $54.99 before tax Tuesday, as an example.

    X5 trigger work

I'm not sure a lot of S2 Orange guys do that since they have worked triggers, polished internals and a barrel bushing from the factory. Mine has indeed made the trip to CGW though, for an optic cut.

    X5 trigger work

Agreed, but my non-legion X5 was a heck of a lot cheaper than my S2 Orange, and was optics ready. So putting a better trigger system in it to get it more on the S2 level won't hurt too badly.

Thanks for the additional detail, I appreciate it.

    X5 trigger work

So you bought the parts and then sent them with your gun to Burke to have them installed? Just making sure I got it straight. I see GG also offers the service of installing their kit and trigger, as well as polishing some internals. Is Burke a better option than GG for that work?

    X5 trigger work

I have a non-Legion X5. Been a great gun I bought new a couple of years ago, before the Legion version hit the scene. Very accurate and fun to shoot. But I bought a CZ Shadow 2 Orange a few months ago and have been shooting it almost exclusively since. I shoot at least weekly. Decided to take the X5 to the range the other day and found out pretty quickly that I'm now spoiled by the trigger on the S2. I used to think the trigger on the X5 was very good. And it is for a stock striker fired gun. But wondering what options are available to get it closer to the S2? I know it will likely never be the same as the S2, but I am hoping I can get it closer. I've put trigger kits in several guns, so I'd go that route if it's a good one. But I'm also willing to have pro work done, if that is the best way to go.
  21. Yeah, it was the shipping charge that made me call it in as warranty. 2 for free worked for me! I was only on hold for 3-4 minutes, so worth it to me.
  22. I broke my first one of those a couple of weeks ago on my XL650. Figured it out quickly, and I'd purchased the spare parts bag with my loader, so had a spare on hand. Called Dillon about it and they sent me a couple of more springs gratis, just got them on Tuesday. But good to know about this temp fix if ever needed.
  23. Yeah, I've had good luck with other SRP's. But these Win WMSRL's are a different story.
  24. Thanks. I'm not looking for an answer on being able to use these 5.56 primers in 9mm. I'm convinced that are not going to work for my guns. I do have an AR and have given some thought to setting up one of my loaders for it. But we just don't shoot it enough to justify the expense for dies and plates. If I can't get rid of these primers though, it may push me over the edge on that one.
