  1. Turning up the speed on my feeder has all but eliminated this problem for me (the OP here). I loaded 1500 9mm's recently and not one inverted case. I'm not running it full speed, but about 80% or so.
  2. No trouble with either of mine on my Shadow 2. Many, many 1000's of rounds down range.
  3. I use a seat/crimp all in one die, so I have room for the powder check and MBF on my 1100 when loading pistol. I don't use the MBF on my rifle toolhead (just don't load enough to justify the conversion), so I have room there too even with separate seat and crimp dies. But more stations is not a bad thing either.
  4. Good points. But the RCBS lockout die or other powder check dies cure squib issues.
  5. Same with the 650/750's. But the toolhead is super easy to change. Pull two pins and slide it out the side. And they are only $40 from Dillon.
  6. You're welcome. It's a good option, especially with the built in light.
  7. A lot more than that if you're getting a toolhead for each caliber. They are $250 alone from Dillon. Add dies, conversion kits, etc, it's not hard to get up to $600 for a conversion. And it take a lot more time to swap the toolhead than 650/750. I like my 1100 a lot, but conversions kind of suck on it. A nice option is the Armanov toolhead, which uses the Hornady LNL bushings. https://usa-shop.armanov.com/products/quick-change-toolhead-assembly-for-dillon-super-1050?_pos=3&_sid=d21a86bc1&_ss=r
  8. When I bought my 1100 late last summer, I asked Dillon why both were still available. Apparently the 1050 can do some longer rifle bullets than the 1100 can. I don't remember were the cutoff was though.
  9. Nice! I think I'd have drywalled the ceiling personally, but nice reloading area.

  11. I use the one with the thumb rest. Has 5K+ rounds on it now, and no issues so far. https://dealer.eemann-tech.com/en/et-cz-shadow-2/4539-eemann-tech-slide-stop-with-thumb-rest-for-cz-shadow-2-black-2000000045399.html?search_query=EEMANN+TECH+SOLID+SLIDE+STOP+thumb+rest&results=1913
  12. I have 2 S2 slides with SRO's. One with a dovetail mount and one cut by CGW for a direct mount. I think they both have the front optics in place. I never notice it though. If you notice that, you're concentrating on the wrong things, IMO.
  13. I'm kind of the opposite of this these days. I have probably 10K of 9mm brass that is sorted for stepped/damaged cases and wet tumbled. So when I go to the range, I sweep my area clean and push anything in front further down the range before I start shooting. I only want to pick up what I shot. Yeah, I'm sure I have a small net loss each time I go, but for now, I'm good with that. Saves me time at the reloading bench.
  14. My solution was to upgrade presses to one that incorporates the swaging station. I can "feel" a stepped case at the sizing station, and toss all of those. Not seeing many of those these days though. Found quite a few of them (ZQI) last year, though.
  15. That sucks. How much is the new motor? FWIW, mine has been fine since buying my RL1100 new last August. At least 10K rounds of 9mm and .223 through it.
  16. I did not feel like my 1100 made my 650 seem like a toy. The 1100 has more power and is a bit beefier, but the 650 is a solid, smooth running, well made machine.
  17. Why would that be? I loaded many, many 1000's of 9mm on my 650 with never a squib.
  18. If you are wanting to shoot production, make sure any custom, non-CZ factory gun is legal. CZ Customs is not official CZ, although they do collaborate. And CZC is a great company to work with. But not many of their custom editions are production legal. I've only owned the S2O, so can't compare to the Blue or OR. But I'm very happy I got the S2O. I had it milled by CGW for a direct optics mount, no plate. Great CO production legal gun! Trigger is incredible.
  19. Yeah, I missed feeling the primer in when I moved from a 650 to an 1100. At least at first. But the 1100 is more consistent, so I'm over it. Nothing wrong with either system, IMO.
  20. Sounds like a sizing die issue. I use the RCBS TC .223 dies in my 1100. The reloads almost all pass my Hornady case gauge, and I check every one of them. BTW, I would not push the shells into the case gauge. That may eventually open up the case gauge, defeating its purpose. If they don't just plunk in flush, they didn't pass.
  21. If the 1050 has a swaging station, I'd keep it. I've been finding more and more crimped primer 9mm brass at the range the last year or so. Which is the reason I switched from a 650 to an 1100 this past summer.
  22. Get the UFO light. Awesome addition. Other stuff would be: -Case feeder -A clicker type adjuster for the powder bar (Armanov makes a nice one, so does Ben Stoeger) - Roller handle - RCBS lock out die or other powder check device - Mr Bullet Feeder And congrats on the 750!
  23. When I got my 650, I bought it through a local dealer, and he knocked off like 10% of so. Kind of surprised me when he did that, but I didn't argue about it either. I approached him when I bought my 1100 this past summer, but he said Dillon stuff was too hard to get at that point in time and he did not want to place an order for me. I knew I was not likely to get a deal, given the backorder on Dillon presses, but I thought I'd throw them some business. No joy, though. But to answer your question more directly, if you can save a little money one way or the other, go that way. If prices are the same, it would make no difference.
  24. You're right, the bin in the other video is mounted up higher on something. I wish someone would do a video on how this cheap version works. My 1100 is mounted flush to my bench, and the bin is resting on the bench right next to where the handle attaches. They just drop in. If you have a strong mount type mount, you'd might need to fab something up to catch them since those are flared out at that bottom. Maybe not though. The timing is such that they do not hit the handle, even with the spring loaded one.
  25. Watch the video on the other thread. They just fall out and drop into a container, much like they do after station 8. It's a lot harder than it is on a 550/650/750. But yeah, it's not difficult. Just expensive to buy and more time consuming to change. I avoid the issue nicely with a $10 part. I call that a win.
