Just curious, is that for thumb indexing? Have not seen someone do that before. RRR

Just ran 150 rounds flawlessly with the new extractor and XP Wolfe spring. We'll see if it continues to work. RRR -
Stock 2 failure to extract issue
Rockriverrenegade replied to vixty's topic in Tanfoglio (EAA / IFG)
Struggling with the same issue. Replaced extractor and new factory spring. Issue was reduced to 1 of 150, but not eliminated. Now have installed a Wolfe XP spring. We'll see how it goes. RRR -
I recently picked up an APX. It seemed to fit my hands well. I shoot a 92G and an Elite92 regularly in uspsa matches. During a few practice sessions, I tried running the APX. To me the APX is a fun shooter and has run flawlessly. Having said that, for me it's not even close to as fast as my 92s. Maybe with practice I could close the gap, but not without some serious practice. It's not a polymer gun thing either. I can run Glocks just as fast as my 92s. Hope this helps. RRR

Henning XL firing pin issue in Stock II

Appreciate the insite. The factory firing pin seems to be working. May leave well enough alone. RRR -
Henning XL firing pin issue in Stock II
Rockriverrenegade replied to Rockriverrenegade's topic in Tanfoglio (EAA / IFG)
The reason I tried the new firing pin was that with the lighter hammer spring I was getting light strikes. I was told by others to try the Henning firing pin, but was still getting light strikes. Found the light firing pin spring and went back to the factory firing pin. I will see if that solves the problem. I'm thinking it will. RRR -
Henning XL firing pin issue in Stock II
Rockriverrenegade replied to Rockriverrenegade's topic in Tanfoglio (EAA / IFG)
Update... i have not not heard back from Henning. I have decided to stick with the factory firing pin and reduced power firing pin spring. This combo seems to work best for avoiding light strikes with the lighter hammer spring. RRR -
Henning XL firing pin issue in Stock II
Rockriverrenegade replied to Rockriverrenegade's topic in Tanfoglio (EAA / IFG)
After trouble shooting, Here is what I sent to Henning to see his thoughts... I swapped the XL firing pin back into my Stock II with the factory firing pin spring. It no longer made the click from the fpbs jumping up. Then I installed the XL with the reduced power firing pin spring, and again it would click from the fpbs jumping up. What it looks like is happening is that the factory spring has enough pressure to push the firing pin fully out the back, holding the hammer slightly off the slide. The reduced power firing pin spring does not and the hammer lays flat against the back of the slide holding the firing pin in slightly. In that position the fpbs must be held in the down position and when the trigger is moved slightly back, it then releases up. RRR -
Henning XL firing pin issue in Stock II
Rockriverrenegade replied to Rockriverrenegade's topic in Tanfoglio (EAA / IFG)
I spoke to Henning last night. He said he had never heard of this happening. He asked me to try a couple of things. I'll report back what the results are. RRR -
Henning XL firing pin issue in Stock II
Rockriverrenegade replied to Rockriverrenegade's topic in Tanfoglio (EAA / IFG)
That seems about right. I'll have to look and see why the fpbs is getting hung up on the firing pin. RRR -
Installed a Henning XL firing pin in my StockII and am getting an audible "click" in the pre take up in double action mode. The click seems to be coming from something under the rear site. You can see the protruding piece move when looking between the slide and rear site from the gun's profile. Replaced with the factory firing pin and the issue is gone. Any ideas? thanks, RRR

Tanfo Stock II Elite - light strike, HELP please!
Rockriverrenegade replied to JohnStewart's topic in Tanfoglio (EAA / IFG)
One other question, as my Stock II is the only one I've handled in person. Is the SA trigger typically a crisp break or does it have creep in it? Mine has more creep than any of my other DA/SA triggers. RRR- 51 replies

Tanfo Stock II Elite - light strike, HELP please!
Rockriverrenegade replied to JohnStewart's topic in Tanfoglio (EAA / IFG)
Thanks for the updates and such. I have ordered the PD firing pin spring. I think that's my next step. I don't feel the need to get down to a super low hammer spring weight, so between using a 14 or 15# hammer spring with the Hennings XL firing pin and PD firing pin spring I'm hoping that' will make for a reliable combo. Is that the firing pin block safety? Was it dragging on the firing pin? RRR- 51 replies

Tanfo Stock II Elite - light strike, HELP please!

Was hoping he found his solution and could post his findings. Reading his posts were like reading what would have been mine. I guess I'll head down the rabbit hole and start trouble shooting. RRR- 51 replies

Not to revive an old thread, but I'm experiencing the exact same thing with my Stock II. Was there ever a resolution to your issue? What was the problem? RRR- 51 replies

I would agree that if you know which optic you prefer then mill a slide. I have one milled for a Trijicon, but wish I could try other brands. RRR

I know where the Stock ll's are.....
Rockriverrenegade replied to DenverDave's topic in Tanfoglio (EAA / IFG)
If someone is searching for a Stcok II in 9mm there is one at GAT Guns in West Dundee IL. I'm sure they will ship, they do sell used stuff on gunbroker. I think it was $1,029 for new. RRR -

Do you like the new Production rules?
Rockriverrenegade replied to Lee G's topic in USPSA/IPSC Rules
I think production by definition dictated fewer mods. Like as stated before, I understand the rule change. However, is this not a game of gentlemen who would call themselves out for an infraction? Or is that still just golf? RRR -
