  1. Try changing the V-Block to a slightly longer one. It doesn't look like it is pushing the case into the shell plate far enough. They sent you an assortment for different calibers. I experimented with different one in my presses to find the one which worked best. The case has to be fully seated in the shell holder or the spring won't capture the case as it comes up as the plate indexes.
  2. C-More makes a mount for the RTS for Walther Q4 - Q5. I think the PDP takes the same mount as Q5. I bought one and it worked on my Q5.
  3. Loaded up the following and here are my results for Alliant e3: 2.9 gr. Avg. Velocity- 805 fps PF-134 ES - 29 SD - 8 3.1 gr. Avg. Velocity- 871 fps PF-145 ES - 35 SD - 10 3.3 gr. Avg. Velocity- 888 fps PF-148 ES - 14 SD - 5 I feel my 2.9 gr. results were a little off as I don't think my powder drop was settled in. I threw out a high and low shots because there were significantly different. I shot 10 rounds each through chrono and 5 at target (rested) and 10 free hand at target. Rested groups were all under 1" @ 30 feet. I liked the 3.1 gr. best for feel shooting freehand. Loaded up 100 @ 3.0 gr. and will shoot next time at range. Will save 15 to run across chrono. Overall I am happy with the powder and hope to find more in the future. Thanks for your help
  4. Thanks Z. I used your recommendation on the 180's also.
  5. Finally got a lb. of e3. It has been very hard to find. I have loaded 2.8 gr. of it for BB 180gr RNFP and got 133 PF out of my Walther PPQ @ 1.150. I am now shooting a TSO and have tested it and found that the red dot returns much quicker with the BB165 gr. RNFP than the 180s. And I get a better HF from the "ready" position. This is with VV powder. I really like e3 and am looking for a good place to start with 165's. I load the TSO to 1.135 and am looking for around 130-135 PF.
  6. Another possibility is X-treme bullets are very shiny. That can cause erratic readings. I have been told and have tried coloring the bullet with black magic marker. I did not get big swings using this method. My powder for the test was VV N350. I also don't load for major PF and have not had any issues with the bullets. I used to use Montana Gold 115 gr. CMJ but haven't been able to get for over a year so I quit using them.
  7. The mags for the 92X are .005 longer than standard 15 round factory mags. They also have a different housing, follower, spring, and base plate. The standard mag works in the 92X but I don't see one listed on Beretta's site for the 92X. Anyone know where can I get them?
  8. I also did some testing with a load using Montana Gold 115 gr. CMJ bullet and and 5.8 gr. of N340 @ 1.142 OAL it made 152.4 PF and had a ES of 29 and a SD of 8. I did some comparisons with other powders and it produced some of the best HFs in actual shooting on a timer. This was in a Walther Q5 with a Lone Wolf comp. I was not trying to make Major Power Factor just wanted a load that produced enough gas to make the comp work. When I switched to a 2011 I am going with 7.0 gr. of N350 which is making the same power factor at a SD of 9 but produces more gas to make the bigger Thundercomp work.
  9. Thats is strange. I use N320, N340, and N350 in two Hornady LNL powder measures and find it very consistent and I have no problem with it binding up. You can feel when it cuts an extruded piece of powder but it doesn't affect the throw weight or cause any other problems. Those are the only powders I am using at present.
  10. I think you will find N340 is cleaner burning than tightgroup.
  11. Recoil impulse is a little different. I don't think it is quite as sharp as N320. But I mainly use N320 for 9mm. I use N340 exclusively for 40 SW. N340 is usually easier to find than N320
  12. I have used 3.5 gr. of N320 for a 180 gr coated bullet to get 125 PF @ 1.180 OAL out of a 5" RIA 1911. Normally use N340 for 40 SW. VV doesn't show and recommendations for 200 gr. with N320
  13. I have used 5.4 gr. of N340 for 145 PF with a MG 115 CMJ bullet at 1.142 . 3.8 grains of N340 for 140 PF out of at Walther PPQ for a 147 grain coated bullet. VV says you ill get 140 PF out of 5.3 grains with a 124 grain bullet, but that is at 1.140 OAL. I find their numbers are pretty close to my results. Unless you have had the barrel throat reamed you probably can't load that long in your CZ. It all depends on your bullets profile. I normally use N320 for 9mm.
  14. They are out of stock now.
  15. I have 2 Walther PPQ 9mm pistols and they both have stepped chambers. They produce brass that looks exactly like that. I have been reloading those for 4 years now with no issues. Most sizing dies will not remove, but it is not a problem. I use a Udie and it takes it out.
  16. My lot 514 took 1 grain more to reach the same velocity of the first one pound canister I bought to sample. It had no lot number on it at all. It must have been lot 314. The performance of their powder seems to be all over the place.
  17. The lot number was what they referenced on their testing. But they were testing 124 gr. bullets and all I had was data on 115 gr. So it didn't mean much to me.
  18. Sorry. I meant to say it took .8 of a grain more of lot 514 to reach the same velocity of the 1 lb. can I bought earlier.
  19. The lot number was 514 and 8 lb. jug was mislabeled. I didn't record the lot number of the 1 lb, canister I first purchased. But it was much faster than this lot. With 115 gr. CMJs it took .8 of a gr. more to reach the same velocities as lot 514. When I spoke to SW they tested the lot and said it was fine but they were using 124 gr. bullets for the data they sent. I did not have a 124 gr. bullets until later. Which were the results I posted earlier. Just seems their product has quite different performance lot to lot.
  20. I also shot the same bullets that day with 6.4 gr. of N350 and got a velocity of 1291 FPS which is only 9 FPS slower than VV's published data for that load. My load length was .018 longer than theirs but I don't think my chrono is too far off. I have a shout out to a buddy to see if I can borrow his chrono to double check mine. Both loads were loaded with the same two scales (I double check with both)) which had calibrated. The two lots of SWMP I have purchased have had very different chrono results.
  21. I got 170.5 and 169.5 power factor with 8.8 gr. of SWMP with a 124 gr. CMJ bullet out of my Walther Q5 with a Lone Wolf 6 port comp. 1.160 OAL. My chrono was 12 feet from muzzle. Temp was in the low 70's. 10 round average on both strings.
  22. 514 is the lot number I have that is considerably slower than the first batch I received. My 8 lb. canister is also mislabeled with Rifle instead of pistol. I purchased this a couple of months ago from Powder Valley. Shooters World said the label was wrong but powder was correct. It took .8 of a grain to reach the same power factor as first batch. Not sure if I am going o reorder.
  23. Yes I contacted them and they tested the lot number I gave them. It is Major Pistol and they said canister was sent with incorrect label. Seems the product has a wide variation in velocity. I am only loading 8.6 gr. and getting around 152 PF. Not looking for Major PF. I am not having any issues as it shoots pretty clean, meters very well, works well with the comp on my Walther Q5, and at the weight I am loading my 115 CMJs I have no spillage. Have some VV. N350 that I loaded a month ago and it seemed to work well also. Going to order some MG 124 gn CMJs and test some loads at the same PF along with some 115's with both powders and see which one gives the best hit factor on the timer. Then I will decide which one I will stay with. I have not ever double checked V.V.s velocity on different lots but I think I will do that in the future. If I was a competitive shooter claiming Major PF I would definitely do that. But I only shoot local matches so it is not an issue.
  24. 135 gr. TC work great in my SP01. I load to 1.120. I use .355 when I first started reloading. I had some issues with .356 from another manufacturer but I am sure I didn't have my dies adjusted correctly. .356 will be OK. I plunk tested some 147 FP @ 1.125 today in my SP01 and they were fine. I plan on shooting them Friday. I really like the 147s in my Walther. The profile is better than RN and work in all my 9mm pistols.
