What powder? Large or small primers? Brass, where to find and what kind? Any suggested loads? Any other thoughts about the 6.8 SPC. Do you have to worry about the pressure curve like the 308 Win?

CDNN's web site has listed Para 15+1 mags. I have 4 and they each hold 16 reloadable 45 ACP's. Have not tried to fit them in a box yet. It might be close. I use them in a Bul M5 by Charles Daley. It's slide cracked after about 25,000 192 PF loads. CD replaced it with no problem. I use 172 PF loads now. It shoots real nice but I retired it when I got my STI Edge in 40.

Got one the day before the election. Very nice, well built and balances perfectly. It is in Tan. It comes with 1 10 round magazine, but 20, 30 and 42 are available. I guess I will have to start ordering lots of mags now before they are all gone. It has a 16” barrel, does anyone have a load (223 rem) for a short barrel 223? What powder would work best?

I have a Charles Daly (Bul M5) in 45 ACP. It has a polymer frame and is lighter than my Edge by a fair amount. It was only $579 at the time and was made in Israel. The price is higher now. I shot it in matches right out of the box with a 3# trigger. Not the most well known gun but very nice for the price. I have at least 75,000 rounds through it. Para mags fit with only a slight modification to the mag latch notch.

Is there any word on the Ohio Calculator Tool or another option?

What loads do you like for 1000 yards?

I have a Bul M5 and it takes the Kimber mags. I bought a Kimber mag and the only name on the mag was Megar, for $49.00. It holds 14 rounds. I bought 4 Megar mags from Midway for the Para for under $20.00 each . They hold 13. To make them work I had to inlarge the mag catch notch. No problems after. Promag the same way only they hold 14. I love the M5 and the Kimber is kind of like it. The slide cracked after 25,000 rounds (1.5 years). It took them 2 weeks to get it back to me with a new slide. Cheep gun but worth every penny. Kimber does not make it any more.

I just tried a "hot" 320 load with a 230g and it kicked alot more than my equally fast 700x or tight group load. A slower 185g load kicked much less, kinda nice. No time to chrono either yet.

So you can see both target and the sights with one lens for one eye and one lens for the other?

I need two prescriptions, one for my sights and one for the targets. Has anybody solved this problem? Maybe 2 lenses.

I live and load at 7600 feet. EVERY time I go DOWN to the valley I loose 20-25 fps.

I have searched but could not find the answer. How far back on the belt can you wear your holster? The rulebook says no “small of the back holsters”. In am concerned with shooters carrying their gun behind the center line (over their back pocket). When they draw it would be easy to break the 180. At our last match a shooter stated IDPA allowed the holster anywhere for concealment reasons. This local match is not IDPA or IPSC but leans toward IDPA. At the level most shooters in this match are at it could become an unsafe position. I am not the match director, so I can tell him no. But if I could point to some rule on paper it would help. Any ideas?

It was a great match. Maybe if we can drum up some support here, we may be able persuaded them to put it on this year. Considering Area 2 residents can’t get in the area 2 match it would be nice.

I have a Bul 45 with round trigger guard. My Bul mag locks back about 10% of the time with rounds in the mag. It will not feed anything but RN bullets. SWC will not even hand feed from a mag

just an update, I just received a STI mag and it does not come close to working in my Bul M5 (Round trigger guard) 45 acp. I will send it back to Midway and try a Para. I hoped it would work but the knotch is way off from the othes. The Kimber works fine but only holds 13. The Bul has a habit of locking back with rounds in the mag. Any ideas?

I may be in the minority but, after 20+ years of shooting this sport I know the gun does make a difference. I still have and carry my original series 70 Colt in 45acp. I just bought a Charles Daley M5 high cap 45. I like it a lot. I can shoot my old Colt a good second and a half faster on El presidente than the C.D. even after putting 2000 rounds thru it. If I use my son’s STI Limited gun I can shave more than a second off the Colts time. For me, the gun does make a difference.

I picked up a Kimber 13 round 45 mag and it works fine. The base plate only allows 13 rounds. It has Megar stamped on it. I want to try a STI but I am still looking for a good place to buy them. Any ideas?

I wanted the M5 in 40 but it is not in country yet so I got the 45. The ony problem I have is after 450 rounds the slide sometimes locks back with rounds in the mag. Any ideas?
