  1. Further update: thinned out the trigger bar where it engages the sear and shot a few matches without issue.
  2. My friend went through the same thing with his SBR'd Glock 17 to use it in PCC. That got spicy, lol.
  3. This is my take, too (though as a MD, I'd NEVER argue these are illegal). I'm shooting the FL state championship in January; I'll probably email their SC ahead of time and get a response in case anyone questions it.
  4. I realize I make up, like, 33%-50% of the IDPA revolver shooters on this forum but I figured I'd give it a shot... I'm still running the moonclip holders I've used for years. They cover the front of the moon and have a post up the center, as was required in the pre-2022 rules. I was re-reading the rules tonight and realized there isn't anything preventing me from using the stacked open posts I use for USPSA: Per 8.6.3.2: Moon clip carriers must either be of open top configuration, and must retain the moon clip by tension and a stud that protrudes through the center of the clip, or retains the moon clip with a snap or Velcro closure. It's definitely open top (and open everything else?), has a post through the center, and retains by tension. I think we no longer have the requirement that moons are held individually so I don't see why this would be disallowed. Has anyone gotten a ruling on these? Or is currently using them?
  5. Wait... per the UPS website: UPS accepts packages containing Firearm Products for shipment only as a contractual service and only from Shippers who are licensed importers, licensed manufacturers, licensed dealers, or licensed collectors (as defined in Title 18, Chapter 44 of the United States Code) to authorized recipients, as outlined in the approved UPS agreement for the transportation of Firearm Products. Can I seriously use my C&R FFL as a way to ship without going through a Type 01?
  6. As an FFL - does it matter if an individual were to ship you a firearm via UPS or FedEx without going through a FFL? Provided it was a legal gun, you had a copy of their driver's license, etc.
  7. Quick update: I talked to someone from Springer today (nice folks). The thought is either the sear is binding slightly or the trigger bar is dragging on the sear, preventing it from returning consistently and catching the striker. I don't think it's the former as the sear rattles freely when all springs are removed. The trigger bar idea might hold water, though. I checked the replacement bar against the factory one and the "hook" section that interfaces with the sear sits significantly prouder than factory bar when laid side-by-side. I thinned this area with a file and reinstalled the bar. I also put the factory weight sear spring back in - I can barely notice a difference when running the trigger and I'll take a little extra reliability wherever I can find it. I should be able to get back to the range in the next few days and I'll test it out.
  8. Changed it right before I put the trigger in. Thanks, though!
  9. Hey all, I just installed a Springer Precision trigger kit and aluminum trigger in my 5.25" XDM. I fit the kit per the guidelines in their video and it passed all function checks while unloaded. I took it to the range for the first time tonight and was having intermittent striker reset issues. The gun would cycle and strip a new round every time but, about 20-30% of the time, the striker wouldn't reset and lock into place. I could correct it by partially racking the slide. I'm certain there's something I didn't fit or install right but I'm not sure what I should be looking at. Any thoughts are appreciated!
  10. Appreciate the feedback! I did notice a slight POI shift depending on where I position my finger on the stock trigger. I just dropped in a curved aluminum one that I was given; I like it more than the stock one, but I'm still toying with going over to one of the flat-faced variants.
  11. Anyone running one of these? Is be curious to hear your thoughts. I don't mind the factory curved trigger but it does feel a little odd.
  12. It's my favorite platform, but I'm probably an oddball. I can say that it would probably be good for a lefty. Most of the left-handed folks I shoot with hang the revolver's frame on their weak hand thumb when reloading; the Rhino moves the barrel out of the way so doing that would be a bit less toasty. I've had eight or nine over the years and only had problems with one. It was new, but a really old model (the sight pins were rusted when I got it). The cylinder stop was mis-fit and the cylinder release was sloppy; after a trip to Chiappa (wherein they replaced tons of parts to get it up to the same spec as newer models), it's been fine. Even the ones I've had converted to 10mm have held up well.

    WML?

You won't find specific verbiage allowing WML's. However, there's no language that disallows them (there used to be and it was removed in the most recent rulebook). Also, this is me at Nationals:
  14. Oh wow. Congrats! They kicked me out of SS, too .
  15. Nice to meet you! Nats was challenging. I started to trainwreck on day one but managed to recover and put together a good match on day two. I finished third overall and first in Sharpshooter. I also did the Dicken Drill challenge and got a pair of coins on my first two tries. That was pretty cool since I have a six-shot gun.
  16. 8.6.1.3 and 8.6.2.1 are the rules you're looking for. "Magnets worn on belts or in concealment garments may not substitute traditional carriers." "Must be suitable for concealed carry and all-day continuous wear." Thumbscrews are legal for holsters and mag carriers.
  17. Appreciate it! I'm not hugely optimistic this time around - my shooting has been kinda off lately - but it's always a fun match. And it's hard to pass up on Cameo.
  18. Good luck to everyone shooting! I head out tomorrow and I'm in the Morning Fri/Afternoon Sat group.
  19. No, there 100% is. That was the point of my post. Mine dropped from the 9+ lb mark down to 7ish, and has worn in to mid-6's. However, like with any competition revolver, you're limited to using Federal primers fully-seated in your handloads.
  20. Yup, always this. ...and also this.
  21. In ESP. CDP has a rule under "Permitted Features" that states "Heavy or cone style barrels on firearms with barrel lengths of 4.25” or less."
  22. That's about it. I took over an IDPA match because the MD retired and I wanted to have a place to shoot. Weirdly, it's cost me more money than I'd be paying in match fees to shoot other people's matches instead. I'm not ruling out the possibility that I'm just stupid.
  23. I hate it and it was gone before I started shooting IDPA.
  24. Not a rule. Unless this was more than five years ago... then, I have no idea, but it sounds silly either way.
