  1. Yes, Colt magazines. These same magazines work fine in 4 different PPCs. Both lowers I tried are specific for 9 mm. One is CMMG, which I would say they use on their pistols. One is Spikes Tactical. Both work fine with my BCM AR upper. Bolts are CMMG. The problem is that the bolt is wedged against the magazine. Can't even cycle the bolt with a mag inserted.
  2. I have built 3 AR PCCs now with nothing but minor adjustments. I decided to do something different and build a pistol side charger. Everything went together fine, but when I am having a problem with what seems the bolt in the upper is too low. I first inserted a loaded mag and released the bolt catch and the bolt jammed on the first round. Tried again and it again jammed. Then I tried to load the magazine with the bolt in battery. Very tough, but I did manage to seat the magazine. The problem was now I could not move the bolt. The top of the mag seemed to be jammed against the bolt, as if the bolt was too low. So, I took one of my AR PCCs and switched uppers back and forth. The AR PCC upper on the pistol worked fine. The Matrix side charger upper on the AR PCC lower had the same problem. Given that both lowers worked on the AR PCC upper and neither lower worked on the Matrix upper (both jammed the mag into the bolt), the only conclusion I have is the Matrix upper is out of spec. So, do I try to modify (not my choice) something or call Matrix? Anyone has anyone had a problem like this? I can’t find anything like this.
  3. I see both sides. When I shoot, most shooters want to know all about my PCC. Most really watch when I shoot, maybe mostly out of curiosity. After watching me, three of my friends had me build PCCs for them. Then there are a few, surprisingly including some of those running the match, that aren't "thrilled" with PCC. They feel it is a pistol match, period. They don't want to be bothered. There were only three PCC entries of 64 in my IDPA match Sunday in Las Vegas. I did very well overall and the RO would comment after each stage about bringing a rifle to a pistol match. Don't get me wrong, he wasn't being a jerk, we were both joking back and forth and having a good time. Maybe a lot of what we hear is joking/teasing. I am guilty of that myself. PCC isn't as big in Las Vegas as others have posted in their locations, but as much fun as it is, it will be growing here too.
  4. I use a red dot because I can't see irons like I used to. Irons aren't for the over 60.
  5. So, one sacrificial mag could possibly make 4 extra length mags. Also, it is my understanding that the Wolf 5% springs are good for an extra 6 to 8 cartridge length. Is that true?
  6. I like it. Been thinking of doing the same thing. Any hiccups?
  7. Eezox. It is also a great dry lube for magazine internals.
  8. I run a 3 MOA venom on my PCC and a 6 MOA venom on my CO pistol. The dots, in general, look the same when shooting, maybe because of different eye to sight distances. I don't care how big the glass is (I sold my Leupold with the larger glass), I just look for the dot. Because I mounted my PCC venom to co-witness, as soon as I shoulder the dot is on target. It is automatic for me. I am still working on my pistol to be as consistent - still need more reps. I have tried Leopold, Vortex Spark and Vortex Spitfire. Not looking for anything different because they work so well for me. Smaller, lighter, great glass and great dot.
  9. I have a 6 MOA Viper on my CO pistol and a 3 MOA Venom on my PCC. They compliment each other perfectly because of the different distances to the eye gives me the same dot. From any position I can pop my PCC up to a perfect sight-in. The Venom weighs practically nothing and the battery is easy to change. I have tried a couple of different tube types and no comparison. YMMV.
