  1. Thanks jk, I guess I have just ignored it and kept on with USPSA, hoping it would not be a hinder, may have to change my game, argh!!
  2. That's the hand with Carpal Tunnel.
  3. Thank you AC ?, appreciate the great info. Look forward to making it finally, after seeing all the vids from Puyallup, the last 2 years. Should be fun, Cheers.
  4. You are right about that, I actually was doing the double tap thing when I was shooting the Glock 357 Open gun in USPSA and did find it to work. I'll work on using the dot to aim in the next practice. I found a clip from June 2018 and uploaded a slow mo below. I'm using the same load and PF. 8# spring at 8 yards. Results at the end. Gun still seems to flip. Better grip? I'm not totally using a Hulk Grip, it's tight, but still trying to stay relaxed.
  5. NW01...ah, that's the magic word. I'll check that. Puyallup has been on my mind for a few years, look forward joining you guys. Thanks.
  6. The slow mo version. Dot is just all over the place, not really a consistent pattern. Seems I am controlling the dot to get back on target, as a reflex. Don't think I recall making an asserted effort to get back to position one. That first shot was a poor grip. I have this Flip Up Camera I am using on a Tri-Pod and I'm straddling this and watching through the camera at a really faded dot, even on max power. Now on to getting the 2nd shot at the right place and the right timing. When I shot USPSA Open C a few years ago, I used my Glock 22 converted to 357 Sig. Took a while to get used to, but after many rounds I found the sweet spot for the 2nd shot. It was all about timing, it took many matches but got it to work good towards the end. Now it's this CZechmates time, and I've only shot it 4 matches, still trying to get used to the double tap and be accurate. I have had 2 good matches and 2 really bad ones. Still new to me, the sport and the gun.
  7. Thanks Sarge, what I was thinking, but the other direction ? I have an 8 in the bag, see how that runs. In the slow mo, you can really see the dive when the slide slams shut. Does the movement up and down look normal. Looks like gun us move straight up and not really doing a muzzle flip. I can tell to, that I am pulling the gun back on target. Don't know if by habit or just a normal recoil back to first position.
  8. What do you see? This is normal speed and I'll upload the Slow Mo version soon. CZ Czechmate Wolff 9# Recoil Spring Everything else is stock about this CZ Montana Gold 115 CMJ 9.2 VitaVhouri Federal 200 Primer Misc. Brass Length = 1.140 1464 fps 168 PF Tell me what you see. It looks good this speed. But slowed down, it looks like the nose is diving upon shot and dot is leaving the window. Too much powder? Also looks like I am pulling the dot back down, by instinct? or just returning to normal grip position. Oh, the dot was really faded and could hardly see it through the Flip Camera I was using. So I did the best I could, looks like the camera or the gun is tilted just a bit.
  9. Thanks Duke. I found that NW Section site many months ago. Have been visiting all the sites. But for PB, if it is listed at PractiScore, then I must have the wrong name for the Range/Event. I would search for "Paul Bunyan", "Puyallup", "Bunyan", etc... but have not found the Pre-Registration yet or even a listing for PB. If you have a link or the correct name to search on Practiscore, please let me know. I have been at it a few years and about 25 matches. Open C currently.
  10. How do you join a USPSA Match, coming up this Oct 14th at Paul Bunyan? I live just south about 2hrs and a USPSA Member. Never have been at the Paul Bunyan USPSA Matches yet, but would like to know whats involved. Not being a member do I just drive up, pay the admission ($20) get squaded and off I go? Anything I should know or be aware of as a first time shooter at this range? Just want to make sure I have all my ducks in the pond, and not get sent home, cuz I was not aware of a certain rule. Thanks.
  11. Well, lets see. I think my first idea was to run back and forth and wait until the 2 target swingers were at rest. But they added 1 Paper Metric behind Popper1. I went right, nailed the PP, engaged the 2 swingers then the single metric behind PP. First time through, I had 2A and 2C. Second time around, 2A 1C and 1M. Then left to T1-T3. Door is open out, so it was a pull. I kept my gun high and right, making sure to not get my hand in front of the muzzle. Then first time, it activated the Spinner on the right, but Drop target on the left did not move. Second time through, it was right spinner and left drop. Box A was just 3 metrics over a small wall. It was a good day too, gun ran great and seemed to be hitting what I was aiming at, that's always a good day. Wish all matches were like this, but it can be frustrating when you have a really bad day. I have had those and just don't seem to recover.
  12. Finished this stage, twice. Or about 1.5 times. First time all was going great. Except the trap after the door, would not set the moving target on the left. Had to stop and restart. Did ok. Placed 3rd in my division, 15th overall of 55. It was a good day, CM ran flawlessly.
  13. Have you tried the 2 examples above? Then you really don't know what you're talking about. I'm not tumbling my CZ mags with "car wash"? No thanks.
  14. DL Supplies Got mine here 2 months ago.
  15. Nice, thank you. Learned something new.
  16. This club a month ago used a door setup just like this one and recalled pulling to open. We just stood in the doorway to keep the door from closing. Will have to see Sat. Thanks.
  17. Hopefully it's a slow swinger. Ok, stay at right. Should I just shoot the lower T10 soon as it moves? Then hold at 12 o'clock and wait for T9 to appear? Why the head shot on the clamshell meteric? It's not covered. I'll post my result this Sat. night. Thanks.
  18. Been to a few USPSA Matches and have one coming up this Sat. Currently a Open C Class shooter. There is this one stage I have been thinking about and wanted to see how some of you would shoot this. I haven't seen how this stage in person, just a drawing from the Builder. My idea would to engage P1 then run to the left and engage T1-T3. Run back and engage T9-T10. This way I am thinking the Swinger would be at rest and less likely to get a Mike. The door. Not sure if the door opens in (push) or opens out (pull). When approaching, how do you position your gun? (A) Position gun downrange high and to the left. (B) Position gun downrange high and to the right. Any help would be well appreciated and cookies will be handed out.
  19. Old gun I used in USPSA for a few matches. Glock 17 frame, Glock 22 Slide, KKM 357 Sig Barrel. Was fun and a beast, but I got used to it. New to USPSA and did about 6 matches. Open C. Then had a 2 year layoff, back issues. Just bought this Czechmate a month ago and back at it again. Works great, just need more matches and practice. Been an Open C for a while, getting to a B is like climbing a mountain with an elephant on my back. ?
  20. Congrats. I did the same a few weeks ago. First major purchase for me in Open Div. I did some load testing and use 2 powders (start low and work your way up). Misc. Check these pics below, specific to my Czechmate, hope this helps.
  21. Y plus is from center of slide away. In the instructions, it's just giving directions to cut in Y. Whether it's +1.00 or -1.00. You will still be cutting on the Y Axis at Z -0.188. Either direction in Y is fine.
  22. Not to hijack this thread, but I find those using a 40 Open inspiring. It’s not the most common Open Gun you’ll find at matches, but it’s how well you do with what ya bring. I started in 2016 and couldn’t justify the $$$$ for an open gun at the time. So I went in cheap and slow, just to learn the sport and then upgrade as time went on. Glock 22 Open Gun, in .357 Sig. Talk about way out there, I know it’s very uncommon. There are a few here that actually use this round and I have talked to that helped me get started. But I had good knowledge of reloading the round, since I own a Glock 32 for 18 years. Price was cheap and was able to get it to run good for me. I was able to beat some of the 2011, STI guys/gals at matches (possible I caught them on a bad day). One thing about my brass at a match, the squad knows it’s what I shoot and they are kind enough to retrieve them. I actually have people months later that picked my brass and handed a baggy of 357 to me, from matches months earlier, funny too. The brass is easy to spot on the ground. I can get Speer once fired for .063 cents. People say it’s loud, I am used to it, but it’s normal to me. Now I am at a stage where I would really like to upgrade to STI, CZ, 2011, etc.. But, I am behind on the vast amount info that is out there, it’s going to take months to read advice here and around, as to what is the best investment. I have also though about getting an STI with a .357 barrel. So far on my list is the CZ Czechmate and the STI DVC in 357 sig…lol. Ya I know. Anyways, thought I would share in your enthusiasm with the “not the standard open gun” stories and ideas.
