  2. Yeah I think the guy told me it must have fell out at the last match. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. How do you check primer seating depth? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I think he said the Eagle had an aluminum grip as well. Is that something that a big deal? Do people crack the plastic grips a lot? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I know most 2011s are hand fit but, if I don't see an extra need for the upper could a separate frame be fit for it, have someone fit a 9mm barrel for it, or sell it and someone honestly be able to use it?
  6. Yes it does come with two uppers.. What is the cut on the slide for? The factory Eagle doesn't have the slide cut on it..I think this one is built I will have to ask him about it when I am able to speak to him next.
  7. I did get to shoot the Eagle and I'm not sure if its because I have never shot a 2011 before or due to its weight it ran smooth as glass. The recoil impulse was on par or less than my Glock 34 with 147grainers
  8. Yeah I know the edge would save more up front but then $300-$400 in mags, $60 for a holster (won't start off with a "race holster" just yet), I have 3 CR Speed Versa pouches that I used for my Glock magazines that will work for the STI mags, but that only saves me like $100 which is like taking care of one magazine already.

  12. I have someone local to me that is selling two different pistols both in 40 S&W. I am unaware of the count down the tube. One is a Eagle that has a 5 and 6 inch slide and 4 mags and has a trigger job from unknown source (also looks like a aftermarket trigger). The 6 inch slide looks like it was cut for some reason, maybe you could fill me in on why. Asking $2000 or The other is a Edge that is blued. I would guess all factory parts with no trigger job and one mag for $1500 (firm). Has some holster wear This will be my first 1911/2011 style handgun as I am moving away from Glock. Trust me I would love to have a 2k+ custom gun but seriously can't afford one at the moment while in school. If you have a 2011 you are looking to get rid of that is sub $2k that comes with more than one magazine please PM. I know there is reasonable prices I have seen a few go for $1,400 or less.
  13. Bayou Bullets coated lead is what I run in my 34 Gen 4. I have to go to a .358 to get decent accuracy and cut down on the leading. YMMV
  14. Ah I see. I need to save then I guess [emoji19] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I had suppressor sights on my 34 to cowitness. Just never bought the RMR Here is a link to the ones I bought. (I dont know why the link says Glock 42) https://dawsonprecision.com/copy-of-dawson-precision-glock-42-fixed-carry-sight-set-black-rear-fiber-optic-front/
  16. Who is that? Not being a smart ass here, just would like to dip my feet in the 2011 game.
  17. I run Trijicon HDs on mine and have had the Truglo TFOs and they were very bright. I wouldn't mind trying out XS standard dot with tritium inserts.
  18. I run a Dues Ex Machina Gun Fighter trigger in my 34. I really like it. https://www.customglockbarrels.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=43
  19. Lucky you found a load that works. I had to go .358 to get a decent group
  20. I had issues with mine shooting left 2 inches and low 1 inch at 10 yards...I know I know classic "flinch" problem but I shot my friend's M&P fine. Have no clue just had to drift my rear sight some
  21. Lynard Skinard, Alabama, Led Zepplin...and a little bit of Drake mixed in for me today.
  22. I wonder how this Gorilla Gold towel would stack up against the aforementioned products. Definitely a little different from the other products. http://www.amazon.com/Gorilla-Gold-Non-Toxic-Grip-Enhancing-Reusable/product-reviews/B007RKDGVQ/ref=cm_cr_getr_d_paging_btm_3?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1&sortBy=recent&pageNumber=3
  23. I've had some accuracy issues before using .356 diameter coated lead and plated lead (Xtreme). Three different targets at the same distance (10 yards) all shooting prone off of a bag. Was told by the owner of one company that I should check my crimp and oal. COAL was right around 1.200 +/- .005 using mixed brass. Tried 3 different loads with one of them being factory. 1st load 147grn coated .356 with crimp set at 0.001 (pulled projectile shows crimp ring at .355) using W231 at 3.6grns. 2nd load 147grn coated .358 with crimp set at .376 measure the OD where the crimp was with Lee FCD (sorry had these already crimped with FCD so couldn't compare to the crimp) using W231 at 3.6grns. 3rd load (best group) was the factory loaded DRT 80 or 85grn IIRC HP. 20 shot group just to make sure it wasn't me most of the time.
  24. Okay so I'm closing in on gathering some things to start casting. Is lead pipe joints suitable for casting? I have access to about 1k pounds. Wanted to know if this will work before I put in the work of picking some of it up. Any input is appreciated! Don't know of anyone local to me that reloads much less that's casts their own projectiles. Thanks in advance Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
