  1. All great advice thanks guys.
  2. As the title says, looking for a good drill to teach the eyes to track the dot better/faster. Seems like my short 2 and a half month hiatus from shooting due to life, cost me some points and time which equals better finish, I shot most of a match and could tell it had been a while, I had been dry firing, but that doesn't really help tracking in my experience. Live fire was lacking although I am getting that scheduled. So what has helped others out there?

    Backup guns

My backup guns are twins, have these and two others kind of just grateful to afford one open gun to play with.

    Backup guns

Just one here, wish I had two but not the time to be able to justify buying a second, don't think the wife would approve. I would guess that one starts the open game, then wants a different setup so the original becomes the backup.
  5. Thanks, have a local guy here that I have had do some work in his back yard shop, re profiled my acr barrel, cut my racker Dove tail, and now this. We did not flat top the slide clamped it in the jig/vice and went to cutting. Then installed barrel marking where I wanted the holes and drilled those. Deburred, reblued the cut then I went and shot 30 rounds to clean the barrel up and sight in. If all goes well should shoot in a match this sat. Will have a buddies stock trubor to compare the two, although mine had popples and a recently added pt evo grip so not really apples to apples, but it will give both of us a idea, then he will decide if he wants some holes added. As far as chronograph goes I have some loads that were loaded pure popples, that I need to use up, then I will chronograph and know what and how much was lost, I anticipate 20 to 40 fps
  6. I just had 3 5/32 holes put in my trubor 38 super, just shoot it today, only 30 rounds to sight in dot, I also have added the evo grip, so not much trigger time, but will shoot a match sat, so hoping to get a real feel. But that is two major changes to my gun from the last time I shot it, which was mid November, so can't really get much feel in 30 rounds, but I don't have any regrets. Would post a pic but I guess it exceeds allowed file size, and am lost as to how to change it
  7. Love mine, but the almighty dollar drives business
  8. I noticed the dot pulls up more in the center of the glass also.
  9. Sv on mine also test shot today just 15 rds for function, but love it. Match next week hopefully between snow and my son's bball I make it. Last match I attended was middle of November
  10. That's exactly what was needed. That aggressive texture is def that. Hopefully get to do some live fire tomorrow, saw your vid and post looks good, the grip feels awesome for sure.
  11. Thanks for the response. Took it all back apart put it back together so seems fine now. But I noticed before taking it apart the slide seemed to be hanging up on the disconnector, and giving me the issue.
  12. Been installing my pt grip, now reassembled, and I am getting some hammer drop, but more concerning to me is after pulling and holding the trigger I rack the slide and it will hang up until the trigger is wiggled or released. Is this a trigger bow over pre travel adjustment or something different? Thanks for any and all suggestions. Thanks in advance.
  13. This auto correct always gets the best of me, I will have to really proof read before posting
  14. Paid for mine and shipped today, hoping there will be minimal fitting to my gun sti frame serial# begins 011, no letters.
  15. Always wrote my Keen shoes, use Keend as a work boot also big toe box and dang comfy. But thus year die Christmas my wife fit me a pair of sc4, so I will wear them. Get what's comfy and shoot on.
  16. I have always heard why would you need a racker if your gun runs. I was a bit hesitant, but am glad I did get one installed. I don't have a compact sight, but do enjoy the installed racker
  17. I would say the full dust cover on the edge is more weight up front, which will mitigate a little bit more muzzle rise. You just need to decide if you want a rail, full dust cover, or not the full dust cover, that's the main difference.
  18. You can do quite a bit with the price difference on the trubor, but the optics you choose, if your after the rts2 there is 400 bucks, really matters what you want in a gun, how much do you want to customize or install, tune. All will be a good time shooting. Just choose and be happy with your gun.
  19. Buddy of mine bought off gun broker, which was fine, but he did add some things for it to run and upgrade it, mainly after messing with tuning the extractor, he ended just buying a aftec and was g2g then he went with egw fire group,sv trigger and a ice magwell. Find one, get it to run reliably and learn your gun as you go. I bought mine on the classifieds here all tuned and ready to roll

I am going to do 2 3/16 popple holes, my question is: does it matter where in the rifling the holes are drilled? Should I put amy angle or just straight up and down 90*?
  21. All my mags are sti tubes I have heard the mbx is good, though
  22. Lighter then the trubor, may or may not run out of the box
  23. My trubor is 38 super shooting major loads, but if I had a cracked slide I would try to have sti warranty the replacement.
  24. I am leary of slide lightening due to warranty, but it probably won't matter if I popple it probably will void warranty as well.
