  1. Be cautious when hanging longer shotty mags on the front of your belt. Works well unless you have to really get after it and run. Then the mag, well, kinda hits you in a spot that does not help your time. Ha ha.
  2. The Springer plates work great and are a well built piece.
  3. I am starting to realize this is how it is.
  4. I did a practice session last night. 2 shots with just my plugs in and the ringing started. Added the muffs and had no issues after that. I think I will be wearing the plugs all day at the matches and just add the muffs when it is my turn to shoot. Unless someone on here gives me an idea for the greatest hearing protection ever!!
  5. I kind of wondered if this was the case.
  6. I am transitioning from carry-ops shooter to open division. I have been shooting with the Sound Gear Instant Fit electronic plugs and they work really good...unless I have to RO an open shooter. When I shoot my new open pistol, I use the Sound Gear plugs with a set of muffs over them. This makes it very pleasant to shoot and I experience no ringing afterwards. Now that the 2020 Race Gun Nationals are over, I have been seeing a lot of video footage and a majority of the shooters and ROs are not wearing muffs. It appears that most folks are wearing custom made in-the-ear plugs. I have done some research through the search field and found lots of info on hearing protection but not sure if the people are actually shooting open guns or not. I would love to hear what the open shooters are using for ear pro so I am more informed before making the large investment into a custom set of plugs. Thanks in advance for any help you guys can offer.
  7. Where did you find an Allen wrench that small??
  8. Good to know. Was wanting something a little lower profile.
  9. Anybody have any experience with the Tooth and Nail 20 round drum mags in the VR80??
  10. Here is my P320 Legion after a cerakote job. Titanium and Navy Blue.
  11. Thanks. Almost feel bad for starting a battle. ha ha
  12. Well, I think i got my answer to my original question. Didn't mean to start a Honcho good or bad debate. Mods, this can be closed up.
  13. Guys squadding with him just to scavenge his brass!! LOL
  14. Thanks for the replies. Just trying to be thrifty to get more practice shots in per dollar spent. Seems that thrifty and open guns don't mix well!! LOL
  15. Thinking about a Hocho with 3 barrels: a 40s&w (if i need to go limited), a 1 port 9mm and a 3 port 9mm major. Since it is so easy to swap barrels, I am wondering if a guy could shoot 9 major for matches with the 3 port barrel and then swap in the 1 port barrel and have a decent PF load for practice sessions that would feel close to the same as the 9 major load. Maybe be able to run coated bullets for practice in regular 9mm to and JHP for 9 major loads. I am still shooting carry ops and have very little experience with comped pistols but it seems like it is feasible. Any input from more experienced open shooters, specifically Honcho shooters??
  16. I left a message on your phone this morning.  Please give me a call at (406) 579-4760

    Thanks

  17. So i had a similar experience when i first got mine. Here is what i did. Mine was nearly impossible to get the bolt to lock back. It took a ridiculous amount of force. I ended up unscrewing the buffer tube several turns to give the buffer more room to work before the spring coils bottomed out. Afterwards, my gun would lock the bolt back much easier and seemed to cycle a greater variety of loads. Not saying this is the cure all but it is a free fix to try. Good luck.
  18. Thanks Max!! Very much enjoyed this. Nice to see some PCC training content being put out. And what better teacher than the master himself!!
  19. Interesting. I wonder why the difference.
  20. Ha ha. Not fatter!! Started using it for 3 gun so accessories came on and off easier. Just kind of like the system.
  21. I recently switched to a ratcheting gun belt and am really liking it. I am headed to an Area match this year and want to make sure i am legal with this belt. I have read the below rule from USPSA and i believe that the ratchet tightened down constitutes being fixed at the waist. Thoughts??
  22. I am pretty happy with my T&N trigger. Massive improvement over stock obviously. Light pull weight with a tiny hint of creep. Makes shooting accurate slug shots much easier. Install was easy and it has simply worked. Just my opinion.
