  1. in my humble opinion, i find shooting classifiers to be a bit boring. there is very little "running and gunning" in them. i personally am attracted to 3-gun matches that require athletic ability in them as an intigral component. unless USPSA approves of classifier stages that allows this, i would prefer not to have a classification system for 3-gun.
  2. Here it is mid march...has anyone gotten in shape yet? By the way, round is a shape
  3. should be another great match. mmmm wonder what stage I RO this year? Doesn't matter. It's a great match. Hi Scott & Doug.
  4. By the way, I run only at matches as I don't want to over exert myself. ;-)
  5. See all you "runners" at the bunkers. I will try to keep up with you again this year unless Travis puts me elsewhere.
  6. Fantastic slideshow Ty! Great Job. See ya soon
  7. Is it a good thing to not have enuff waist?
  8. I also will use a sling depending on the given situation. I have it on the gun always and sometimes use a small nylon strap to keep it out of the way. (I think I lost it at the last match in Missoula) It comes in very handy for long range.
  9. I will certainly miss the truck stage. We have our "War Wagon" (aka; Idaho School of Driving) 2 weeks before. It is great preperation for that stage. I think too, it may have been my best stage last year.
  10. Around here, Big 5, walmart or Shopko. Look at the soccer and volleyball stuff.
  11. I am also good for the barley pop! Makes a good end to a good day of shooting. I am with Bill, good scoring method that awards accuracy. Even if I am not the best shooter on earth. I also have been to both of the previous matches R&R put on and enjoyed them both. I will continue to shoot and RO this match as long as Robert will have me! The sponsers need to be promoted as much as possible at all matches and at Robert's match, they are. Again, I will continue to assist and shoot this match until I am Bill's age. (or a little older)
  12. Just buy a new upper. much easier and it will be correct.
  13. I don't think physical training helped me. Running up and down the bunker stage (11) for those days as an RO truely beat me like a rented mule! This doesn't even include shooting all the other stages. Funny thing is...I liked it! Made some good friends and generally had an awesome time! Memories were made. The next weekend was a standard USPSA 3-gun match in Missoula and was quite anti-climatic. I hope their 3-gun is before the MGM this time.
  14. this year the R&R only had a small number of heavy shooters therefore they had to combine heavy metal and heavy tac.
  15. congrats on trying to bring in new shooters! You may want to consider time plus scoring. It takes a fraction of the time to score in comparison to USPSA. Much less complicated and no computer needed except maybe an excel spreadsheet.
  16. I think 3-gun (1 gun per stage) is a great way for the newer shooter to "get thier feet wet" in this sport. My 10 year old had less to think about as far as what to do next during a stage. He also shot our multi gun match and did well from the previous "practice" match. USPSA in my humble opinion should consider sponsering both types of matches. They would need to use winscore on the single gun per stage match and perhaps Horner (or another) scoring method for multi guns on each stage in a match. I personally enjoy multigun format. MGM (time plus), R&R (Horner). I am not sure which scoring system I prefer as they have different strengths.
  17. Work. took to many days off during the year for other matches. My sponser (wife) said we should stay married to each other and me not marry the sport. My balance beam is just so wide.
  18. I want to thank all the competitors for coming. Without you, The match would have been a bust. Thanks
  19. The results should be on the website any day now. We are all waiting to see how we faired.
  20. Do we have any pics coming? I wanted to take pics but......having to much fun Rick
  21. should have some good stages. Been workin' on them for a bit now. Rick
  22. As one of the RO's of stage 11(Bunker Buster) it was an extrodinary experience running (literally) the stage. Some of you youngsters can run a lot faster than me. It made me feel my age. I had the pleasure of watching and helping everyone from D class on up to the top. Everyone had a great attitude and I would like to think I have made some new friends. Especially my RO mate Nathan. I look forward to next year. Thank You Gibson family for an awesome experience! Rick
  23. All of us on the squad felt for ya. You're an awesome guy!
  24. midwest industries makes a mount that attatches to the pic and will place the irons at the 45. Mine is on the right side. I also have a Luepold 1.5 x 5 on top
