  1. What PF loads are you running through it?
  2. I don't know, it was used when I got it.
  3. Not what I wanted to hear. The gun runs good so I'd rather not have to get a new slide fitted and go through break in. Is it something that could be welded or should I just use it as a paper weight?
  4. I was cleaning my open 9mm tonight and noticed a crack in the back of the slide. Is this something I should be worried about or will it be alright? I never seen it before and don’t know when it happened. It’s used for 3 gun and I only use minor loads.
  5. I personally never handled one but I have talked to a few people who own one. In general everyone that owns one seems to be happy with them. There are a few dealers on Gun Broker that sell them and they are cheaper then STI's and CK Arms.
  6. I did find better prices on all the rifles I listed. But I should use some of my Cabalas points so I'm kind of stuck paying more. Then again I guess I'm not really paying anything for it so I cant complain.
  7. No, according to PRS rules for the division I want to shoot the rifle can not be modified and can't cost more then 2k. Factory 700 triggers suck for a lack of better words.
  8. Its time to cash in some of my Cabalas points so I thought I would put them towards a new bolt rifle. I still haven't figured out this long range stuff so I thought I'd ask before I buy. The rifles Cabalas have that I'm interested in are: 1- Bergara B14 BMP in 6.5 Creedmoor 2- Tikka T3X TAC A1 in 6.5 Creedmoor 3- Ruger Precision gen 3 in 6.5 Creedmoor 4- Tikka TSR 1 in .308 5- Mossberg MVP LC in 6.5 Creedmoor I have them listed in the order of interest to me. Out of everything I listed the only one I have handled is the Ruger, and they are nice but I think for around a few hundred more or less I could do better. I did some research on the web and for some reason I'm drawn toward the B14. I'm all ears if someone has any input as to what way to go, but keep in mind the rifle has to: A. Come from Cabalas B. Cost under $2000 (as per PRS rules) C. Would like to stick with 6.5 Creedmoor because that's what my AR platform is.
  9. I was pretty happy with my current setup until I read this. Now I have to buy a D60. But first I have to explain to my wife why I need a D60
  10. If anyone cares my airsoft plastic grip showed up. It not even close to a real 2011 grip. Looks like It was a bad idea all the way around.
  11. I don’t know much about them but the Bul SAS is close to your price range. I might be worth looking for some reviews on them. It’s based off the 2011 platform.
  12. A little off subject but I was wondering how you like the bul sas. I’ve seen pictures but never handled one. I’m pretty impressed with the way the machining looks and the seem reasonably priced. Do you have any feedback on the overall quality.

    911

Unfortunately my wife had a seizure yesterday for no apparent reason. Fortunately I was standing next to her in our home when it happened but it really caught me off guard. Not knowing what to do I managed to get my phone and dial 911. The person that answered was literally a life saver. First thing he asked was what the problem was. I told him I needed an ambulance NOW. Second thing he asked was what is the address. I had the worst time trying to remember our address even though we lived there for 25 years. Thankfully the operator stayed calm coached me through the address and stayed on the line telling me what to do until the paramedics got there. I never thought to ask his name or had a chance to thank him. I hope by some small chance he’ll read this and know how much I appreciate what he did for us. My wife is now resting comfortably in the hospital. Thank you sir Who ever you may be.
  14. Yes it is on a steel frame. Aluminum makes that much of a difference?
  15. I'm not sure how I missed that one in my search but it looks like it would work. I'll give them a call and see if I can get one in aluminum. Thanks for the heads up.
  16. I've only had stock STI triggers on my 2011's and every now and then I run into a problem during a reload. I have to shift my grip to hit the mag release even with a paddle on the release. Sometimes I manage to shift my grip back a little too far after the reload and ram my finger into the trigger guard too far making it almost impossible to reset the trigger, I never do it in practice only when I'm on the clock. A few weeks ago I shot a gun with a long flat trigger and I liked the way it felt. I made it almost impossible for me to extend my trigger finger too far. But I also wasn't on the clock when I shot it and I didn't get to try and draw with it. I'm not sure if that's the answer to my problem or if it would create more problems. So who shoots a long flat trigger, why and how do you like it. Thought I'd ask before I buy one and it ends up in the pile of barley used parts on the bench.
  17. I'm not trying to hijack this thread but I was wondering why you feel steel grips make such a difference. The reason I'm asking is I'm currently trying to find an aluminum grip I like but the only reason I want to go with aluminum is because I always thought plastic seemed cheap. I never noticed a performance difference with the guns that I shot with a steel grip. What advantage are you gaining with your steel grip and what grip are you using? This statement hit the nail square on the head. USPSA is just a fill in for 3 gun for a lot of people I know, including me.
  18. I married for love and earned the money. This way would have been much easier, take his advice.
  19. Just for kicks I found a plastic Airsoft grip on Ebay for $15 so I bought it to see how hard it would be to make it fit a 2011. I'll let you know if it works after I get it if anyone is interested.
  20. I'm starting to wonder if an aluminum grip is worth it. The only reason I want to go aluminum is I'm old school, real guns were made of metal and toy guns were made of plastic. I've never had a problem with any of my plastic grips but I thought I wanted to upgrade to real gun status. Maybe Its not such a good idea after all. Maybe your right, considering my hands are like old worn out shoe leather and have been burned so many times I'm amazed I still have fingerprints. Maybe I should just stick with a plastic grip and do aggressive stippling like my other ones. If its not broke don't try and fix it. I just wish there were more options for grips for the 2011 platform. If I can find someone with an Evo with the extra sharp cut I'd still like to try it but I'm not getting my hopes up at this point in the game.
  21. Your probably right. I think I'm going to look into the Evo aluminum grip with the extra sharp cut, I didn't know they offered that. Hopefully it will work out and not feel slippery. I just have to find someone who has one so I can try it before I commit to placing an order.
  22. Nice job on the Glock. But when you switch to a 2011 platform you'll never look back, they are night and day. Like Wvaughn7 said the trigger is by far better in a 2011. I would suggest trying a few different 2011's before you buy one. Different builds have different feels, comps act different, balance can be different, grips are different ( steel, aluminum, plastic) so on and so on. But when you get one you'll wonder what took you so long to make the switch.
  23. That's still a little above the wife's tolerance level. $650 would buy me a week sleeping on the couch. At $840 I would have to evict the dog and sleep in his house for a week. I just couldn't do that to poor fellow, I like him to much.?
