  1. This was the 10.000 Dinars worth, I gave this guy at the Belgrad airport - I have to get you away from your guns as long as possible. Rhodes is coming soon... You know, I really could get used to this all time smiling.... Thanks a lot for all the congrats! It´s unbelievable! Vericio_Brazil, very well! Thats perfect! Sascha
  2. hi cliff, great to hear! I've just arrived with markus at the hotel rex. We just got our first beer looking forward to shoot the match with you! Best, Sascha
  3. You are lucky! I can only buy 500g / 454g cans in Germany All countries around us have 2kg cans (Vihtavoury/Kemira) but we are not allowed to buy them. Due to that, I buy some small cans and mix them, to get a constant lot for a longer time.
  4. from my experience, the cylinder gap and the cylinder holes have big influence on the velocity of a load. My old 586 has had a nice cylinder/barrel gap but worn cylinder holes - due to that poor velocity. Another reason could be a slight change in powder recipe from charge to charge. I´ve measured often differences in velocity with the same components by change from powder can to powder can. Since I got chronoed minor one time, because I´ve not checked a load after changing the can, I chrono before every match now. DVC, Sascha
  5. I started Revolving with a 4" 586 and Comp-IIIs shooting Minor 38SPL in ~1999. After getting addicted and growing with the Revolver style, I thought, I need also a 625 to shoot Major with clips. Tried it for a year or so before the Europeans in 2001. Switched back after this major match because I never felt really comfortable with the N-Frame 625. Got my 586 converted for clips and started shooting also major with this gun with .38SPL cases, 200grs copper plated RNs and ~5.7grs N350. Secure major in a .357Mag gun. The evolution of ammo went on with cutting down the .38SPL cases to .38Super length and 158grs copper RNs and now, I´m using 160grs polymer coated lead bullets from ARES,Starline .38ShortColt brass and ~5,4grs VV N350. Perfect IPSC Revo load! Clean, accurate, fast and easy to reload. If you already have a 686/586 and you are thinking of gaming with this gun - try it. In my opinion, theres no need for a 625 to be competitive. Recoil of the mentioned load is different to a 200/230grs .45 major load. I like the sharp kick of the shorts more than the rolling of the .45. But thats just my very subjective opinion. DVC, Sascha
  6. I got the message of the Bullseye load in between. The load of my friend was: 200 grs H&N RN Bullseye 4,5 gr OAL 37,6mm Federal 100 regards, Sascha
  7. actually, I´m using a 160grs .357 RN bullet (Epoxy Coated, made by ARES, Slovakia) in my .38ShortColt brass with 5,3grs N350 OAL 31,5mm for making major. This bullet was formerly made for 38Super. Could be worth, trying a similar bullet in .38Super brass?
  8. Bill, he used to the length of .38Special cutted .357 Mag brass. We did not talk about pressure. But his reloads looked smooth and easy. No sign of sticking etc. I´ll try to contact him by email. In between, I looked for my old load in .38SPL brass - I used 5.9grs of N350 and the pressure, I got measured was around 2000 Bar. So, little bit too high for a .38SPL Revo, but no problem for a modern .357Mag Revo. Sascha
  9. I promised, to ask for other data: at the S&W Cup last weekend, I asked a shooter, who uses 200grs H&N, which load he uses - he loads 4.5grs Titegroup for a PF of 175 (OAL 37.0 mm) with a 686 6" regards, Sascha
  10. did the same with Major PF 175 (160grs bullets), also without any problems
  11. Thanks Bill for digging this old post. I´ve just send a mail to my buddy for telling me his recipe with Blue Dot (I guess, it was Blue Dot). I had a second load for standard .38SPL cases, which I used befor this load in shortened cases. This was with 5.9grs VV N350 and OAL must have been anything around 38.0mm i guess. But to be sure, I´ll check with my notes at home this evening. This load, I used in a 4" 586 (later, I changed this Revo to the 6" barrel). DVC, Sascha
  12. anywhere in my old posts, there must be my recipe for a very good major load with .38spl cases, the 200grs H&N and VV N350. If you can´t get your hands on VV N350, a friend of mine had a load with Bullseye if I remember correct. If needed, I´ll ask him for his recipe. Keep my fingers crossed, that you may get some of them. DVC, Sascha
  13. CRDB, H&N Haendler&Natermann - they have a 200grs copper plated RN bullet perfect for Revo use. US Distributor best, Sascha edit: wrong link
  14. Hallo Agnes, alles Liebe und Gute zum Geburtstag! Ich hoffe, wir sehen Dich bald mal wieder mit dem Revolver! Viele Grüße, Sascha Happy Birthday Agnes and all the best! I hope, we´ll see you soon with the Revolver again! (Agnes was shooting several Matches in the last month with her Open gun!
  15. Match is full. Seems, that there will be no Revo Division Thread can be deleted...
  16. If anybody is interested in shooting the 2009 STI European Open with the Revo - please sign up immediately here. There are only a few slots available yet. Would be very sad, if there wouldn´t be enough shooters for the Revo Division! DVC! Sascha
  17. Ciao Luca, yes, Serbia is on my list! Hope, this will become a good one! EDIT - Luca, Serbia is 2010! Not 2009... best, Sascha
  18. This is something what we face in other countries, too. Revo is not as prominent as Standard or Open. Sure, there are not as much guys shooting this Division, but the effort you have to spent, to be on top is the same as in other Divisions. But - who am I talking to... Greece - we come! DVC! Sascha

  20. Hey Cliff, all the best also from me! Have a good one.... best, Sascha
  21. yes, also from me - congrats Cliff! You shoot a great match! Even bad thunderstorms couldn´t stop you! It was a pleasure for me, to meet you! DVC, Sascha
  22. Hi Tom, I`m using the 38SC for IPSC Major PF (in Germany: 170) in a 6" 586 - the recipe is a long seated (30,5mm OAL) 158 grs RN bullet (H&N HS) with Kemira Vihtavoury N350. For Minor Steel load I use a 125grs RN bullet (also H&N) and Titegroup. Works fine! Best, Sascha
  23. Time for me, to jump in I can only speak for the 38Short Colts - sold my 625 last year after lying unused in the safe for years. Never tried 45GAPS. seriously. My experience is, that with .38 ShortColts my reloads are lots more consistent. With the 38SPL (shortened or not), there are usually sometimes hanging reloads between right flushing ones (This rate is even higher the more complex or shorter the moving is between shooting positions). The rate of hanging reloads is much more lower with the shorties. Reloading times? Never measured. But there is a felt difference. If its measurable or not, who cares. This felt difference makes me more self confident to throw in a additional reload to get a quicker way in a stage. I'll vote for the shorties. DVC, Sascha Edit: and yes, I'm also using special clips for my Starline .38SC cases
  24. Thanks Alamoshooter, thanks Bill for your Input! I like the .38SC, too! The Montana Bullet - is it a plated or jacketed or lead? I´ll try to replace it with my .357 125grs H&N HS RN. Hope it works also. OK, and then, lets go and buy Universal... I´ll do my best! And now, Herr Sahlberg, it´s a quarter to twelve p.m. local time here! Best, Sascha
  25. Hi, I´ve just signed up for my first Steel Challenge match. Now I'm thinking about, which load I should use... I've signed up for Standard Revolver and Open Revolver. For Standard, I'll use my 6" 586 and for Open, I'll take my 627 (3 Port holes and one small comp in the original barrel). Cases, I have std. 38spl, shortened .38spl (~like Long Colt) and I've .38Short Colts as well. Whats recommended? Copper plated bullets are lying around in 125grs RN and 158grs. Powders, I have N320, N340, N350 or TiteGroup. Any help is appreciated! thanks, Sascha
