  1. I was able to shoot these today. I used 3.7 grains of TG. Little to no smoke compared to bayous. These are my new bullets.
  2. I like the coating on these better than the bayou. It doesn't leave my hand/glove red like the bayous. I'm hoping to fire them this weekend. Of course that will be the ultimate test.
  3. Thanks for all the input guys! I think the easiest option for primers is to only put in what I'm going to load. This is my first progressive press so I needed to learn that one the hard way. So far I have just left the powder in there. Now that I know it's not going to hurt anything by doing so I feel much more comfortable leaving it that way. On a side note, progressive presses are amazing! Going from batch loading on a turret press to a progressive is Night and day difference. Last weekend I wanted to load up 100 rounds. That would have taken an hour with my old setup. I knocked it out in 20-25 mins and I am still in the "cautious" phase.
  4. Wow that's great to know. I will just leave it in there. I was told when I first started loading to not even store my powder in the garage and it needed to be in a cool dry location at all times.
  5. I'm using titegroup. My press is out in the garage so it gets exposed to cold temps right now and hot temps in the summer.
  6. I recently went blue with a Dillon 550b. I finally got it all set up today and dumped a bunch of powder in and put in more primers than I should have (I put 100 in and only planned on making 50 rounds. I didn't plan it out well). I got to the end and realized I hadn't thought about how to dump out the powder and get rid of primers. What's the best method? So far this is what I came up with. Disconnect the powder activation bar by pushing up on that white piece and the taking off the tool head and dumping it out? I'm wondering if that will wear out the white plastic piece quickly? I have no idea what to do about the primers. Thoughts? Suggestions? I'll plan better with the primers going forward.
  7. Absolutely. Because of limited space, the only place I can store my guns is in the master bathroom closet. I just have a regular metal gun cabinet, not safe, and keep 3 dehumidifiers in there. They are the reusable ones. I have not had any rust problems and that's a pretty humid environment.
  8. The initial wait was a little over 7 business days. He said he had trouble getting parts in. The trigger didn't work in my gun so I had to send it back and still don't have it. Hopefully I'll get it next week.
  9. I picked some of these up recently. I haven't had a chance to shoot them yet as I'm finishing up some bayous right now. I ordered around noon and had shipping notification within a couple hours and received them two days later. His prices are already low and with free shipping it was a no brainer. I will be trying these with TG.
  10. What powder/load are you using? I recently tried some 147 bayou and 3.2 grains of tg and they shoot about 4 inches high of poa at 25 yards. Just picked up some 125 grn bullets to try out next.
  11. The reason I ask is because it's pretty confusing when your first starting out. There are so many different ones. I went with bayou Bullets to start. I'm working through my first thousand right now.
  12. How did you guys arrive at your "favorite"? Blue bullets and bayou seem the most popular. Does price play a role? With a discount code it seems blue bullets are among the cheapest.
  13. However, I would like to add a better seating die. Something that excels at seating flat nosed coated bullets. Any advice? The Lee seems inconsistent.
  14. Interesting! I already have lee 9mm dies so I will just use them to start off then.
  15. Thanks for all the advice! I think I'm going to go with the 550b for the option to use different dies and potential for upgrades like a case feeder. Any recommendations for dies? Dillon?
  16. I'm looking for input on choosing the right press. I know these have been done a lot but I can't find any threads talking about a press for a single caliber. My goal is to shoot 1k a month next year so I want to upgrade my press. The turret press is too time consuming. I don't have any interest in loading anything else. Keeping that in mind, which progressive would be best for me? Dillon SDB or the 550b? Also which can I load faster on? 650 isn't an option because of cost. Thanks for all the input!!
  17. I finally ordered one of these. I went with the full custom kit. The wait is always the worst part lol
  18. Has anyone tried it with a dk custom trigger?
  19. How does this work with aftermarket triggers? Does it closely mimic them or a factory Glock?
  20. I loaded a test round with bayou 147 and did the plunk test. It spun freely at 1.17 oal. That seems really long. I haven't loaded flat nose before. How much should I take off the oal? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. This same thing happened to me with a Zev competition trigger setup. I decided on dk because I haven't heard this issue reported with his triggers. It makes me cautious about putting in aftermarket triggers. I ended up changing my carry gun back to stock springs even thought it worked with ghost springs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
