  1. That's the one thing I don't remember off hand, I think it was the recommended OAL which is 1.150, and it did pass the plunk test when I loaded pb. I've since ran about 100 rounds of the pb through the sp01 and since I've changed the recoil spring to 12 lbs I've not had an issue with it. I will have to remember to check the plunk test on the sp01 tonight when I get back. I worked with my lnl last night a bit to get it to drop 3.8 fairly consistently. 3.8 would be a nice sweet spot as a little less wouldn't hurt too badly and little more wouldn't be too bad either if the powder measure drifted slightly. Though like I mentioned titegroup seems to meter much better than the pb. 9x45, that's one of the loads that would scare me a bit since it's over the published max. Though if anything it's reassuring because it looks like there is a bit of a safety margin. Though I just realized that the OAL is a bit longer so the pressure would be less.
  2. So I managed to get quite a bit of titegroup recently and will be switching from pb (titegroup meters soooo much better than pb). I'm reloading from rocky mountain reloading 124 grain plated round nose bullets with mixed headstamp brass. I'll be using S&B primers or Winchester as I have available. The one variable that's confusing me is the charge for titegroup. Hodgdonreloading's webpage notes a starting charge of 3.6 with a max charge of 4.1 grains. I usually do a sanity check online to ensure that this makes sense, maybe it should be the other way around really. On this forum I'm seeing anywhere from 3.8 which makes sense to 4.3 which sounds like it would be overcharged. I'll admit I'm more worried about this because titegroup is such a smaller charge and you could double charge fairly easily. And the powder has a reputation for being somewhat hot. I think I'm going to go ahead and load 50ish of 3.8 grain and then maybe 50ish of 4.0 grains and go from there. I'll be using these mostly in IDPA through a cz75 sp01. Any advice? Thanks in advance.
  3. So basically took everything down and polished it similarly to my 75b. I think the trigger bar spring might have been mispositioned or even pushing the trigger bar upwards, but even adjusting the spring so that the trigger bar was just in the rails so that it would reset properly there was still a little drag that did not appear to be in the 75b and my compact. I did notice that the sear spring's tail was sticking slightly up and had scratched the area on the slide that recocks the hammer so that might have also contributed to it. Went to a local idpa match today and started with a 14 lb spring instead of the 18 stock spring. Two failure to ejects on the first stage. Swapped a 12 lb spring, and then ran without an issue for the rest of the match. At times the ejection was throwing brass maybe a one or two feet from me, and once or twice it threw one back towards me. Somewhat weird though, I'll admit I don't know what my loads are in terms of power factor as I haven't had a chance to pick up a chrono. I have to admit, I'm almost kinda regretting installing the extended mag releases, they are fantastic for reloading quickly, but the tinkering with the trigger bar has been interesting. That and I'll need to restake them to make sure they don't end up walking out.
  4. Weird thing occurring with my sp01. If I simply pull the slide back, even with the hammer cocked, the slide drags quite a bit. Even so much that at times with the 12 lb recoil spring I will actually stop the slide coming forward into battery. If I pull the trigger and the hammer falls this drag isn't there. It looks like the trigger bar is dragging on the slide, weirdly though I cannot replicate this with my 75b and compact. I'm thinking I maybe have reassembled it wrong, but I've taken it down and put it back together a few times now and can't seem to find out where I've gone wrong.
  5. I will say this, while they gave me some ftf or stovepipes they all did go bang. I'm thinking that the 18 lb recoil spring probably had something to do with it too. I think I'll be increasing the charge slightly and then also trying a 11-12 lb recoil spring
  6. I must be on the very edge of what it takes to cycle the slide. I'm going to bump the powder a bit, and also swap the recoil spring. I believe the stock sp01 recoil is 18 lbs, going to try a 14 and go from there.
  7. Anyone find that these seem to be a little less hot? Was at a local match yesterday and tried them for the first time in my new sp01. Same load same bullet weight, only difference was the primer. Had consistent ftp and stovepipes. Did not seem to be related to mags. Switched to 1 mag of factory ammo, no problems. Switch to old loadings with same powder and same bullet, no problems.

  9. I believe the compact cz75 does actually meet the requirements. I have a fully cajuned compact that I've actually shot a few times in CCP and even tried in the IDPA box and it did fit.
  10. Sometime it takes a step from the problem to find the solution. I'm sure no one thinks u wasted anyone's time. Truthfully I'm here to waste some time most of the time.
  11. lc9s for a few matches, the trigger makes a huge difference.
  12. Weirdly it started rattling on the 9th round, it sounds like one of the rounds isn't under tension and it's hitting the mag body.
  13. Picked up the springs from czc and ran a match over the weekend. One mag rattled slightly the other was solid. Both ran without any issues.
  14. Doesn't look like the one from cgw, but honestly it should work fine. The CGW one is a lot more robust, but I'm not sure you need that much behind it with the trigger pin, now the hammer pins....
  15. That is tempting...I technically don't "need" one, but I'd be curious how much a difference a non firing pin block cz would make on the trigger....
  16. Also noted in this thread: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=214203
  17. I've noticed the difference between the full cap and the 10 rounders as well, but there does seem to be an agreement in some other forums that the full cap springs do work with the 10 rounders.
  18. Cool thank you brian.
  19. Looking to replace some 10 round mag springs for mags that came with my cz75b years ago. Checked with czc and they are listed as out of stock online, cgw doesn't carry them and wolff doesn't carry them for 10 rounders either. Anyone know of any sources for the 10 round mag springs?
  20. Anyone having any trouble contacting Steve, send an email early this week and haven't heard back.
  21. Was thinking a cz compact with safety. Or if you can find a p02 or compact L. With all the upgrades legal in ESP you can have a pretty nice cocked and locked handgun, only issue is will it fit in the box widthwise, the cz website lists it as 1.380, where the limit is 1.375.
  22. IDPA is weird in this aspect. I don't believe there is anything specifically that says fobus isn't legal, but it also depends on how much clearance there is between the pistol and you when you're wearing it. Unfortunately wouldn't know definately if it passes the dowel test. A holster may pass on me and fail on the next guy.
  23. IDPA match over the weekened. On at least two stages the targets called for 3 shots on one or two targets and then two for the others. I found myself tapping all the targets 3 times. Cost me a few seconds, ended up meaning the difference between placing and not placing.
  24. Honestly, I'd give David a call back. He knows the cz's very well, and since you're using his parts he'll know which direction to point you.
  25. Seems like all my searches for reloading questions lead back to this forum. I had thought I had a login from a while back, but apparently not. When I stumbled across some excellent reloading posts I thought I minus well just make a login and read through as a member. Used to compete in IDPA a decade plus ago, and just within the year started again. Of course that lead to digging the reloading equipment out again and getting it setup.
