  1. https://vimeo.com/155264216 This is my CK Arms hardcore 9 Major Montana Gold 115gr JHP 8.5gr HS-6 The chrono says it is 173 PF I like it a lot. Sorry I didn't have a better angle. The video was an after thought when I got to the range.
  2. Hi. I have the Cheely offset mount with Cmore. I liked it then tried a RtS2. I am not liking the RTS2 as much as I thought. The viewing window is too dark and the dot is not bright enough for me with my fancy sunglasses in the open light. I admit I like to tinker and want to try a 90 deg mount now. I know I need the set back one. Can someone that has one tell me the following (my gun is the CK Arms Hardcore Open) 1. Is the dot centered over the gun, or is it offset to the left like the offset mount? 2. Does the setback allow enough clearance for the slide racker? I just want to make sure before I spend the $90 bucks one one. Thanks, -Wayne
  3. The Florida open is in Frostproof right? If all else fails I have an extra one and live about 30 min away in Winter Haven. I can't go to the open, but you could stop by after work one day and get it. Or I could meet you in Winter Haven or Lakeland.
  4. The glass size on the razor is much shorter. I will post a picture of them tonight. I have both. I ran the vortex on an M&P CORE until the vortex stopped working.
  5. On my first open gun I ended up doing Grams guts and gluing the spacer in. That in combination with loading 1.165 made the mags run flawless. I had 1 big stick and 3 140s. My second open gun I went with MBX only because the gun didn't come with any mags. I still load to 1.165 . My MBX also get 1-2 more rounds in them reliably. Forgive me if I missed it, but what kind of gun do you have?
  6. I actually like the offset of the original. I am right handed but left eye dom. When shooting you don't even notice. The rts2 is more centered and is lower.
  7. I used 4gr of titegroup under an xtreeme 124 bullet in my Trubor. Worked great with stock internals. It felt like a pea shooter and had more of a lobbing feel than snap. I never had an issue of needing to shoot steel more than once to knock it down.
  8. I will sell it and the mount it is on
  9. Hopefully will to shoot it today some time!!!
  10. I have MBX mags and I get 30 in the 170 and 23 I. The 140. To make them reloadable I have to drop a round in each. My mags have the stock springs and followers.
  11. Got to chrono my loads today. I still have some adjustments to make. I learned that a lighter bullet will need a lot more powder than I expected. My gun has 3 holes. These are the 3 loads I tested today: 8.2gr HS-6, 124gr MG JHP = 175pf 8.2gr HS-6, 115gr MG JHP = 164pf 8.5gr HS-6, 115gr MG JHP = 168pf It looks like 8.5 is going to be my sweet spot for now with the stock comp. It shoots flat enough for me, but more importantly, the dot is very predictable. I was shooting more double alphas today than I did with the heavier bullets because of my timing and the dot tracking. I just need more practice with this gun and my new load. Now I am going to see how long I can keep my tinkering self to leave my load and gun alone. If it ain't broke, it doesn't have enough buttons yet, right??
  12. They fixed a grip issue that my gun was having, no questions asked. I only had to pay shipping 1 way. They send it back to me at no charge. I mailed it out on a monday, had a fixed gun back on Thursday, and shot a match on Sunday! Fast service. you had to pay shipping on a warranty issue? that sucks. this is one of the items i am debating in getting a CK or STI. STI usually picks up the tab on issues with their guns. what did it cost to ship? Just under $100. UPS makes you send it next day air.
  13. They fixed a grip issue that my gun was having, no questions asked. I only had to pay shipping 1 way. They send it back to me at no charge. I mailed it out on a monday, had a fixed gun back on Thursday, and shot a match on Sunday! Fast service.
  14. I got my new MG 115gr JHP bullets in this past week and worked up some loads. After testing, I am going to run with 8.4gr of HS-6 with the MG 115 JHP bullet at 1.165. It is much flatter than with the 124s. The dot is now staying in the glass most of the time depending on my grip. 8.2gr was ok for PF threshold, but 8.4 made it just a bit flatter. Thanks for the recommendations, I will be sticking with the Cheely comp. Anyone want to buy about 3k of 124gr MG JHP bullets lol? (I will have to count them). I may post them to the classifieds later, or just keep them for my minor loads. Thanks.
  15. HI. I was wondering the same thing when I was trying to make the decision. One person told me at a match that the slide was the only difference. I ended up getting the hardcore because I think it looks cooler, and that's all that counts right? :-) I will be interested to see what others say about it...
  16. I will do that. I also ordered some 115s
  17. Hi. I want to put a different compensator on my CK Arms open gun. I was searching but couldn't determine if it is something I can do myself or not. I am pretty technically inclined, but according to this video, I just don't have the tools to do it. I haven't made up my mind yet, but my top 2 picks are the one from the video above, and the Brazos Tundercomp. My gun is chambered in 9mm and has a KKM barrel in it. My current load is 124 MG JHP on top of 8.2gr HS-6. I had to increase to 8.2 because of the popple holes. I was using 8 in my old Trubor, and it seemed to shoot softer and the dot didn't rise as much. I feel that that the stock comp on my new CK Arms open gun could do better at keeping the dot under control more. I went up to 8.6 gr of HS-6, but it didn't get better for me. I know most things with an open gun are not drop in. I am wondering if it is truly that involved? I am also waiting for a reply from Binary Eng to see if they offer fitting service of their comp to my gun. While i'm at it, is anyone else running a stock CK Arms open gun (mine is the Thunder model) and using HS-6? If so, what is your load, and how do you feel about the performance with the stock comp? Thanks, -Wayne
  18. Video as promised. Please don't laugh at me on the last stage. I saw the steel faster than my brain said "it is a classifier, don't forget the mandatory reload".
  19. I'll post a video some time in the next day or so of the gun running.
  20. Bobby called me and told me there was a bad batch of STI plastic grips. They were formed wrong. He said they have replaced 3 of them so far. For the people who PMed me. I recommend giving them a call. I am very happy with the replacement grip Bobby installed on my gun. I shot a match today and it ran ran 100% Bobby was very apologetic that I had a bad one and had to deal with it.
  21. I saw a picture of a side by side comparison of open guns. One had a Cmore slide ride in the standard vertical mount, the other had a RTS2 mounted. Both were in the same image. The picture was taken from the back looking through the sights like if you were shooting them. I tried searching Google images, but I am not having any luck. If anyone remembers what I am talking about, can you post a link to it here please? Thanks, -Wayne
  22. Thanks to Matt and Bobby. I was out of town for a week, but when I came back, I shipped it to Bobby on Monday and I had a fixed gun back in hand on Thursday! Shooting it in a match tomorrow morning. Thanks again for the great support.
  23. Matt Cheely sent me a private message last night. He is taking care of it. That was fast support! Thanks.
  24. The bottom of the grip safety does not catch on the top of the main spring housing. It will rotate out of the grip. Has anyone seen this before? How did you fix it? Or do I need to post a picture of what I am trying to describe. It is on a brand new CK arms open gun. It came out of the box like this. Thanks.
