This is true. I shot it last night, went through about 50 rounds in no time at all. This thing is awesome. Going back tonight with another 100 rounds just for fun. I can't wait for the next match. I got my holster yesterday also.

Look what I picked up today! Stock STI TruBor. This is my first real open gun. I went back and fourth on this and a more pricey custom gun. In the end this was the better option for me. I plan to work up a good Major PF load, then re spring it and work a good minor load for steel so that I can shoot both. Nothing fancy, I just wanted to share.

Thanks. I have reduced it a bunch so that the crimp is slightly noticeable.

Is this too much, too little or is the crimp just right? Left is an uncrimped, right is crimped and pulled with a bullet puller. This a 124gr xtreme bullet in 9mm. Thanks.

Hi. I just bought a new STI Trubor and will get it hopefully Monday. I received a recommend load from the dealer, and got confused on part of it. When developing a load for major PF I know to step it up slowly using a chronograph. My question is that that the dealer told me that I need to also check the pressure as I work up from -10% of the recommendation. Did I overlook something when I was learning about loading ammo and about Open guns and power factor? How do I check the pressure, or am I just misunderstanding something? I completely get the chronograph part, and to make sure nothing on the gun is looking like it is wearing un-expectedly, but I am missing how to check the pressure. Thanks in advance, -Wayne

I am relatively new to shooting and I still use my go pro strapped to my forehead at matches. Each stage I ran in the beginning never felt right. I could stand at the local public range and the gun felt right in my hands, but when the buzzer went beeeeeepppp, for some reason I was always off and not shooting accurately. The video footage I had showed me that I had forgot how to property grip the gun. I saw that I was consistently putting my thumbs backwards crossed. About 3 hours of dry-fire practice cured me of that. The next match I found after viewing all the new video is that my grip was dead on all six stages. Now I am working on keeping the gun up in my field of view when reloading instead of bringing it way down like I normally do when making ready. Personally, so far the video has helped me, and I get to show off (only the good ones of course, the one where I forgot to load the gun on an unloaded start got deleted from my laptop somehow) to my family and friends. So, I just ordered a the XL650 press for 9mm and everything to go with it except a tumbler and calipers as I already had those. Between the information on this forum and some local shooters I have learned a ton of information. Can't wait for it to show up! This is my first press and my first venture into loading ammunition period. So far I have only tumbled all my brass, and stocked up on a bit on powder primers and some bullets. I don't recall seeing any shipping info other than the price (or I didn't look in the correct place). Does anyone know how it is shipped, and the shipping speed? I am assuming it will arrive via UPS ground and take about a week. Thanks. Forgot to mention, I ordered it all through the Brian Enos store here on the forum.

I have decided to get into the Open game. I have been shooting production and a bit of open with my M&P core with a red dot on it for about 8 months now. I am about 95% sure I am going to get a STI Trubor. I am still working on the decision between 9mm or .38 super comp. I currently have about 5000 rds of cleaned/polished 9mm brass from a local range I sometimes go to. They don't have a problem with me picking up all the 9mm I want (they will actually sweep it into a pile behind me when I am there sometimes). Most of it is once-fired name brand stuff. I will be getting a Dillon 550B in the next month or so and will begin loading my own stuff. My question is, it seems the main reason for most people to go with 9mm over .38 is the brass; however, if I am not worried about the cost of .38sc brass and having to pick it up, would it be just as good, if not better? I know there are more powder options with .38sc. Another one of the ranges I go to always has a good amount of .38sc brass laying around after matches (not a ton, but some). I know it is impossible to get the perfect setup the first time around. I am, as of right now, probably going to go with 9mm, I am just wondering if anyone thinks I will be missing out on something significant by not going with .38sc? Thanks, -Wayne

Thanks for all the recommendations. I was able to get my hands on 5 lbs of titegroup and 2 lbs of hs6. I will start out with the tite group in 9mm. I have 124g xtreme bullets to start with. Next step is to get the equipment ordered up.

I have decided to start loading myself. I will be getting the Dillion 550 (new to loading package on Brian Enos). I have been picking brass for about 6 months and have plenty now. Now I am trying to find powder. I will be loading 9mm (not major PF, just regular) for now and eventually 9 major. My question is how does everyone get powder? I can't find any local, and all the online shops have it backordered. I 'preordered' 2 lbs of HS6, but there isn't any ETA on it. Is it normal to buy online and wait weeks for it to come in, or do I just keep trying my luck at some local shops? Probably a bit of both I guess. I didn't realize how scarce it is. I take it that if I find some, I should buy all I can?

The sights on mine fit with no problems. This is the exact one I bought. I can take some pictures tonight if you want to see the fit.

Comp-Tac makes one that works really good. I use it on my core 5" and the raised irons have no problems during draw or when holstering.

I am in the process of learning what I need and how to get into reloading. I have a question that may be obvious to some, but I do t know the answer to. Why do online retailers have hazmat fees on powder and primers, but a box, even cases at a time of rounds don't have a hazmat fee? Thanks.

HI. My name is Wayne. I have been shooting for about 6 months now. I have been participating in all the USPSA, IPSC, IDPA and Steel events in the Central Florida area that I can. So far I have been buying ammo, but have been collecting brass and am about to get into loading my own. So far I have been shooting matches with Lakeland Defensive Pistol Club, Central Florida Rifle & Pistol Club and Universal Shooting Academy. If anyone knows of any other clubs that host matches open to the public around my area I would love to come out. I heard about these forums from someone at a match last weekend so figured I would come see and sign up. Thanks.
