I agree with Dr Mitch. Recently switched from CR Speed to Safariland 773 and they're fantastic.

if you dont mind me asking why are they better than the cr speed? I run racers but am curious. I had 771 for singlestack and absolutely hated them.

Getting a perfect dot wasn't what I was originally pointing out. The dot looked fine but around the dot there was a box like outline which is the outline of the small plastic lens that covers the diode. It was dirty (looked like a fingerprint was on it) I wiped it clean and the outline went away. The lens is probably there to make it waterproof. A cmore (at least the old style) doesn't have that secondary lens.

I wanted to edit but cant, a cmore does have the "lens" I was referring to but it isnt glass or plastic like the DPP is. Cmores lens seems to be a shaded transparent filter of some sort instead of a clear plastic or glass lens.

Would someone explain why it's worth it if automated?

    i just got a 1050 pro for my 1050.

Im also wondering this. How much does that help wobble? I have the bearing kit and the plastic ball detent instead of the steel ball and wobble hasnt been an issue cranking by hand. I have a little while before the LTE mark 7 comes in. anyone running an autodrive compare with or without the FFB? Is it a must have?

  4. I did have a chance myself to shoot one of their builds before putting a deposit down on mine and it felt really balanced. Definitely did not feel front heavy and although I only had a few moments to feel it and shoot only a few rounds through it, i do not think the long DC will be a disadvantage by any means.

beautiful blaster Kingman!   To be honest, the "new style" they are building looks wise is horrendous with the slide cuts some of them have with the awkward compensator style.  Your custom slide cuts match that compensator/long dustcover perfectly and it looks awesome.

The real question, how does it balance for you with the added weight out front? I've moved all my weight to the grip area.

I Hated the long dust cover look when I started my build but I ended up going with it because it's different and worst case I'll have it cut back later if I really hate it. (I don't think it's going to make a huge difference with it that long vs cut to where the slide ends)

To the op, looking back I wonder why you're so special I started my build 2 weeks before you?..? I'll start another one of these threads when mine comes in.

When all this crap comes from china, how do you differentiate?  China made crap at $130(gander mtn) is the same as china made crap at $30(ali baba). Try both, then tell me the "authentic" shoes are better. I have tried both and they are the same damn thing. Either they came from the same factory or too much time was spent making copies. They were that close I could not tell a difference. Too bad both were too skinny for my feet. I returned the $130 shoes, and sold the $30 for a little profit. Nike $30 wide football cleats from Dicks works well for me.

Totally agree here. Probably from the same factory. Im with you buddy.

In a vacuum, that works for one pair of shoes...  But I make every attempt to not live in a vacuum.  Why do you think that you can buy fakes for less than a quarter of the price?  Is Salomon just that greedy?  What if you made something that was great?  Researched it.  Paid people to test it.  Sourced some decent materials.  Then advertised for this product.  Then someone just copied what you made, used stuff the was a bit cheaper, used cheaper labor and didn't have to research, develop or test it, because you had done that for them.  In fact, they didn't even have to advertise for it because you had already done it and they just used your label.

I don't like that business model, even if it is cheaper, because it does not encourage innovation, and does not result in better products over time.  So, I pay companies I respect for the products they make.  Since you aren't ashamed to admit you not only bought fakes, but did so knowingly, then sold them for a profit I doubt any of the above matters to you.

Fear not, I'll (with the rest of the suckers like me) keep the good businesses in business by paying for their products!  Maybe that explanation will encourage another thread reader to think about buying some fakes.

Im all for supporting a business if you like the product. I am not rolling in the dough though so sometimes that means it comes down to buying a "fake" product or not buying it at all. Im buying the knock off..

Im also all for buying something and selling it for a profit. I have bought many things with the intent of reselling it for a profit. buying and selling things at a higher margin is how literally millions of people put food on the table...

  7. Just seeing this post now. I have to admit I havent read many books. I have steve andersons RR which was the first book I bought and it started me into dryfiring. Just recently bought with winning in mind and feel I have got a lot out of that short simple book, not only applied to shooting but all aspects of life. (work, home life) That book is a must I feel if you are into any kind of competition or have a competitive nature. I have recently bought Ben Stoegers books and for dry fire I feel those are the most helpful so far. Steve Andersons was a good start but for me Ben's books give you a lot more insight and directive when it comes to dryfire and training. What is tough for me is time management i guess.  I want to dryfire as much as I can and read the books I have cover to cover at the same time there are only so many hours in a day though. If I was single I would have probably read them all by now and bought Enos book lol.

  9. Search "Flat" and Im sure youll find this topic covered 1,000,001 times.

I think the search for Flattness is pointless if your goal is to win matches or if your goal is to become the best shooter you can be.  Like said above, find a load where the dot returns to the same spot and goes up and down. Or find a load where you like the way the dot tracks and shoot that same load for a while so you are familiar with how the dot behaves. Testing a million different loads searching for the Flattest load is in my opinion a waste of time and effort. Now If you just want to chase the flattest load down for shits and gigs then by all means continue on. A monster Grip can make the gun appear to be super Flat also. Take my advice with a grain of salt (or whatever the saying is) because I am not a GM open shooter.

Watch Max Michels gun when shooting open. I wouldn't say his load is "Flat" by any means but he still wins. Lesgar Speedy Murdock has a "Flat" shooting gun and isnt too shabby himself. I dont think the Load is all that important is what Im trying to get at. find a load that makes PF and isnt wasting extra gas that blows out the end of the barrel with your setup and call it a day.

  10. I still haven't used it out in the sunlight (gun still being built) so I don't know if it would have ever mattered out in the bright sun.  but I don't forsee it being an issue as wiping it with the q tip seemed to make it not nearly as noticeable than how it looked in the the pictures I posted.

Svi. Have one on order and I was like you went through every builder out there. Came down to svi because you can do basically whatever you want to it. All other builders can do certain things but don't offer the complete customization of the gun. Don't wait like I did get your order in. Other builders I was interested in was atlas and limcat. Came down to they wouldn't do some of the stuff I wanted because they have a certain design. Atlas has a little more flex when it comes to the design but not anything like SV. I took 4 months to decide talking with all and nobody will let you fully customize like SV will. I am in Louisiana so more humid than sc and ss grip with bitone stainless finish I went with.

I have to somewhat disagree with what was said about Atlas and limiting what you can do to a design. I asked for very specific things to be done and was not let down. You can pretty much design the gun yourself and they'll send you a 3d model of it and you can make changes to anything you want. From my experience Atlas will do anything you want to a gun if you ask nicely :D

How are you rated and what is your 1-2 year expectation of where you want to end up?

If you are a B/C shooter and plan on staying there - order the WAC (I am a B and shoot

    WAC/124gr).

If you want to be an A or M, then you might want to try one of the "other powders" - Silhouette, etc.    :)

Also curious. IMO choosing one or the other will have no ill affect on what class you will potentially be. Test if you can one vs the other. make a choice and stick to it. spend less time experimenting and more time practicing.

  13. Ill be sure to update on what actual features this will have vs speculation when mine comes in. Jog up and down would be nice, and as long as the built in dwell cycles slow enough not to spill powder from a case full of 9major I could care less about being able to adjust it further.

  14. How new is this LTE mark 7? How come I have never ready anything here on the Mark 7 "entry" level autodrive? This suddenly doesnt look so out of reach.. at almost half the cost I dont get why I have never heard of this? I wouldnt be cranking out no 100,000 rounds a year so it would seem to suit shooters like me more than the top of the line options. With a promo code that is running for another week I think it brings this auto drive down to under $1500.
